Splinterlands Battle Of The Week: Summoner matters
2025-04-10T13:22:03
The Ruleset
Rulesets - Keep Your Distance
Mana Cap - 30
Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Immortalis
With the ruleset and element pick that I got I knew I needed to play someone who counters either magic or ranged monsters
But that meant I needed to guess which one my enemy was going to play
For this battle I though it was going to be magic comp I was going to face so I picked Immortalis and his Void
Void - Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%
Shatter - Successful attacks destroy the target's armor
1st Position: Mycelic Slipspawn
Mycelic Slipspawn was my main tanks for this battle
Main reason I like Mycelic Slipspawn here a lot is his Taunt ability
Even tho the mana cap was not that huge Mycelic Slipspawn also had Forcefield which meant if my enemy should play a heavy damage monster it also would be countered
Taunt - Every time this Unit defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats
Forcefield - Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health
2nd Position: Goblin Psychic
Goblin Psychic was my first healer for this team
Goblin Psychic is possible my favorite healer as he also has the Affliction ability which would totally counter my enemy playing any healer
Tank Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down) to the allied unit in the first position
Affliction - 50% chance to apply Afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed
3rd Position: Furious Chicken
You just can not forget about Furious Chicken when you have 0 mana and room for one more monster
He he basically just a free 1 attack tank
4th Position: Mushroom Seer
Next up in line is my main monster that was going to make my summoner pick totally amazing
As Mushroom Seer lowers my enemies magic damage by 1 my summoners Void was going to be so huge
Silence - -1 magic power to all enemy units
5th Position: Wood Nymph
For last but not least was my second healer for this team
Even tho his stats are worse and he does not have the Affliction ability I still picked him was the Tank Heal ability was more important and also he only costs 4 mana
Tank Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down) to the allied unit in the first position
Starting board
Already after seeing the starting board I was confident I would win just because how hard my summoner counters his
Also my team was perfectly set up for this battle with the double heal and Silence
But lets start the battle and have a look how I did
Here's how the battle went
1st, 2nd & 3rd Round
After first three rounds the board was finally starting to take shape for me
it took me 3 rounds to take down his first tank and his Venari Spellsmith right after that
The battle was totally over but lets keep it rolling
4th Round
After 4th Round my enemies board was looking quite empty already while my one was still at full hp and was going to stay like this till the end
Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next and hopefully final round and then face my victory
5th Round
It took me 2 attacks to kill my enemies last standing monster
After his Ujurak Elder and Djinn Biljka had fallen I took the victory
This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
The strategy to take away from this battle is the basic guessing what is you opponent going to play based on the rulesets and mana cap and then trying your best to counter it
