Greeting All Hive Lions
Here we are at May 2025 LPUD. LPUD stands for LEO POWER UP DAY, it is a day when we all are staking LEO token on HIVE, and called as the LIONS. Leo Power Up Day is a routine event, held on the 15th of every month.
Same as Hive Power concept, LEO POWER stands for the amount of staked Leo token that you have in your Hive Accounts. As A tribe token, the higher LEO POWER (LP) you have, the higher curation power you possess.
I have been participating LEO POWER UP DAY since July 2024 and up to today, none I have missed. Too bad that the badges on the Hivebuzz is no longer working so I can not see or brag it to others. Actually there are two types of LPUD participants:
- CUB, for people who do Leo Power Up minimum 50 $LEO on the 15th of the month
- LION, for people who do Leo Power Pp minimum 150 $LEO on the 15th of the month
So When you see my post title above, you might guess that I do 50 $LEO staking today... right? Well it is wrong, Newborn Cub is a kind of honorary title given to people who have staked $LEO in a notable amount.

As you can see above, today after I do this #LPUD, I will have more than 2.000 LEO POWER and that gives me a pride rank of Newborn Cub. I am aiming for a good LION rank and I know that will be a long way to go. But I am on it that way.
Each rank has their own perks, but it is not my topic here. I won't go with the detail here, but more or less I could say the more LEO POWER you have, you will be getting these two things:
- Higher LEO Curation. You will get more $LEO token from curating people whether from a long post or from a thread.
- You have higher visibility from Leo Curators, and have better possibility to get good vote... if you manage to make good posts, else don't complain please.
So that's what I want to say today and now it's my #LPUD time!
MY LEO POWER UP DAY FOR MAY 2025
Ok let me share you how I do my Leo Power Up Day today. Basically it is a staking token stuff so the first thing I need to do is tocheck how many $LEO I have in my wallet.
I have 249 liquid $LEO today and I could choose to to stake at 150 $LEO, doing the LEO attack for today, and save 100 $LEO for the next month. However I see that if I go all out today, I will reach 2.000 staked $LEO and that gives me the title of Newborn Cub.
So I have two options here, first one being realistic and budget precision, which allow me to participate LEO POWER UP DAY in easy and no burden at all. Or the second one, pushing my self to aim higher, which might put me some pressure on the next month to get more $LEO because it will start from 0 liquid $LEO again.
I choose the second one, I want to do something different this month, so here I go with the max LEO staking today.
Now let we see how this ends up to:
After staking 249 $LEO, right now I have 2.005 LEO POWER. This means I have completed my LEO ATTACK Today and I am part of the Newborn Cub rank in LEO community
The total value of my LEO wallet is $34.26, not something that spectacular but it should be a common level of investment if you like writing on HIVE, and specifically being in LEO community.
