It's been a long time since I heard about a lake called Setu Babakan, but I've never been there. Recently, I invited my husband to visit the lake. It turned out to be very close to my new place of residence, about six and a half kilometers away. The time it takes to get there is only about twenty-three minutes by motorcycle.
**SETU BABAKAN**
Setu babakan is a lake that was inaugurated as a cultural heritage. This lake is designated as a Betawi cultural heritage area, to preserve and develop Betawi culture. Therefore, in this area a Betawi museum, traditional houses of Betawi villages, and all kinds of things related to Betawi are built. So besides enjoying the beauty of the lake, visitors can explore the museum and Betawi village as well. To explore this area, it is free of charge.
Setu or Situ is another name for Lake. The Betawi tribe, which is the original tribe of Jakarta, calls the lake a setu or situ. The lake is quite clean and wide. Many people fish at the edge of the lake. There are also those who come to enjoy the view of the lake and breathe the surrounding fresh air. There are also many food vendors by the lake, so visitors don't have to worry about going hungry. I didn't expect that the lake would have many visitors.
I think Setu babakan is an interesting place. Besides enjoying the beauty and breathing fresh air, I can also learn about Betawi culture in this area. Especially because it is located close to where I live, so it makes it easier for me if I want to visit again.
