It is incredibly hard to find a woman, much less a girl who'd be interested in science or technology.
Most times, the computer gurus or geeks in my country are men. I have no idea why. Could it be a norm? Could the ways of our forefathers still be upon us?
I was asked this question in an international group. How could we make girls more interested in science or technology?
It was a think out of the box kinda thing and it took me about three minutes to come up with my answer.
A GIRL IS ATTRACTED TO THREE THINGS...
Books, Attention and money...
These are the major focal point for a teenager especially a girl.
All teenage ladies where I come from seem to have a knack to read or write, be acknowledged and earn money.
How do we possibly use that hunger to attract them to the wonderful nature of technology?
At that moment, the answer came in two forms; Cryptocurrency and Hive Blockchain.
It took me a while penning down my thoughts to the girl that asked me the question and when I was done she asked, "where have you been all my life?"
MOST HAVE NO IDEA...
It is a must for the upcoming generation to understand the importance of the digital market and decentralized finance. This girl, 16 years of age from Tanzania, had no idea what Cryptocurrency was! She was totally clueless. I had to explain and ask her to google for her to get the picture of it. Then I went on ahead to explain Coins to the best of my ability and even send her the link to some of my articles. She had no idea that Bitcoin existed!
Most African countries especially the undeveloped have no idea what financial freedom means and it's an awful revelation. Yes, most teens and young adults are arriving at the breaking dawn of new information and total transformation of world economy, but how about the others? What would they do if they don't know? Personally, I think Cryptocurrency and use of world technology should be preached in schools and encouraged to the upcoming generation.
HOW DO WE MAKE THEM PICK IT UP...
Sadly, the ignorance isn't borne from limited information but rather, little interest. It is very true that girls in their teen have no other worries than looking good and being the best. Finding a girl who is interested in feeding her brain and exercising it is like a tough job. There are very few of them.
THIS IS WHERE HIVE COMES IN...
For someone who just wants to be on social media all day, be noticed and earn money from it, Hive is the perfect tool.
The girl I was explaining it to understood and totally wanted to join Hive when I explained I earn in $. Her mind was blown and she became interested.

They spend days, weeks, months and years building social media accounts for the simple hope they'd attract the right attention and become famous.
Now Hive might not offer world fame but that's not what we Hivers/CryptoTraders are really after. What we really want is financial freedom.
BEST OF THE BEST...
When you offer a teen these major opportunities, they don't need you to incite or persuade them. Teenagers have this force of will they summon when they are truly interested in something. They attend to it with all dedication and all clarity. They become different people. So Cryptocurrency or Hive Blockchain Technology is a great way to make a girl or anyone for that matter interested in technology. They'd pick up and want more knowledge to offer more information that'd bring them more attention and therefore heighten their value.
The full potentials of our gadgets haven't been explored yet and who knows? The least of them might someday become the best(I'm referring to the girls).
