Turned over the calendar page today, and now we write May.
Spring flowers...
April was yet another month that was "no great shakes," but — in its defence — it ended up being the first month since August 2025 where my crypto holdings had a net gain... by a mind blowing $78 or so.
I guess we should be grateful for small favors, right?
Of course, April always feels kinda sucky to me because because it's income tax month. Which means there's the suck of having to prepare the tax statements, followed by the suck of paying the taxes due.

On the plus side, I do feel pretty good about the re-invention of my beach combing business, a change which will hopefully replace some income lost elsewhere. I suppose I should just consider myself blessed to be able to earn part of my living from walking on the beach!
And it is much needed. Life is getting very expensive around here. About a week ago I filled up the gas tank of our truck and it was the first time I can remember it costing more than $100 to do so.
I don't know how this is going to be, for most regular folks. This world seems to increasinly be a situation in which stagnant incomes bum against rapidly increasing prices... and more and more people are seeing their livelihood being replaced by automation.
At some point "the powers that be" must surely realize that if the minions have no jobs and no money, they won't be able to buy all the products being made by all the money-saving automation.
Looks like something is wrong with the Hive image servers, so I guess I'll have to come back in and fix things like broken links later.
