Being real.

As my merry band of avid readers will know, I have no dirty little secrets; in fact, I have few secrets of any kind. My life is an open book. I say what I mean, I mean what I say, and I always do what I say I will, no dilly-dallying, no shilly-shallying, no prevarication, and absolutely no excuses. I’m as straight as a die. What you see is what you get.

Heretofore, although I could make all manner of claims about my openness, amiability, kindness, and good deeds, I had nobody to whom I could refer you for confirmation. Recently, however, @owasco was fortunate enough to meet me and, as soon as she recovers, I’m certain she will be happy to answer in the affirmative such searching questions as:
“Is deirdyweirdy really as perfect as she makes out?”
And,
“Is deirdyweirdy truly as lean and lithe as she claims, with not a single unsightly fat bit in evidence?”

Considering Owasco's high opinion of me, it will not surprise you to learn that ownership and responsibility are my two middle names. I agree with GB Shaw, ‘It is the first duty of every man not to be poor.' It is incumbent upon each of us to be responsible for our own health and wealth. I am the author of my own (mis)fortune. While it is easy to blame those who have stabbed me in the back, stolen from me, or let me down, ultimately, that too is my responsibility ...for letting them get within striking distance.

To paraphrase The Peace President, “I knew damn well that they were snakes before I took them in"

and ' Do you have the "victim" mentality or do you take ownership and responsibility?
