And finally the carnival has arrived and with it the traditional parades of the floats. Many are organized, practically one for each town... this year for my first visit I chose the Carnival float parade in Camposampiero and I had fun.

There were a lot of people, the main street was completely crowded and that already says a lot. The floats were quite big, colorful, with some moving parts and you could see that there was work behind them, not something thrown together at the last minute.

Also, preceding each float was a dance troupe that danced something different each time depending on the music that was playing at that moment.

Some immediately gave the idea of what they represented, others you understood later by looking at the details. Masks (also from the people watching), loud music and confetti everywhere, also thrown from the floats themselves.

I took some photos while they passed by and they turned out quite well overall. I must say that this year compared to previous years the floats with political or satirical themes were practically absent, the main themes were peace, violence against women and the inexorable passage of time.

Around there was the right atmosphere: families, children in costumes, no pushing or people trying to grab front row spots. A simple, relaxed celebration, with a few rides for the little ones, fritters, cotton candy. In the end we spent the whole afternoon there, returning home tired but still happy.
