Witness Status - Running For Two Weeks, Thing I Have Learnt

This will be a short update post as promised, I want to keep you all informed, that so far the server has been performing perfectly and has not missed a beat. Being a new witness I am watching the logs like a hawk and reacting to the slightest twitch. It helps that I have made the server powerful enough to handle the load.
What Have I Learnt
Well it has to be that getting help from other witnesses is just a short message away and they are happy to answer, I had plenty of questions. One new answer raises another two questions, but running a witness certainly focuses your mind on the job. I have some plans to add monitoring and notifications, but I am not sure if I want to use Nagios or Zabbix, If anyone has experience please add a comment. I was thinking about a backup server in case I need to reboot the primary after applying patches, but It was pointed out that as a new witness, I am only getting one or two blocks a day and a simple disable, patch and reboot will only take the node offline for a few minutes. So that will be ok for now until it gets a bit busy.
My Plan To Promote My Witness
This post will be part of the promotion, I want to be able to expose my witness to as many hive users as possible and encourage them to send a vote.
- I will work on creating a banner to place at the bottom of my posts
- Offer multiple ways to vote on different front ends
- Reach out to others and respectfully ask for a vote
- Demonstrate my commitment to the blockchain and community
