Da Dream...

My personal dream is rather simple… to become a digital nomad!

As a minimalist and a dreamy adventurer, I tend to shy away from possessions, attachments and responsibilities. All that’s left to dream about is lifestyle, experiences and relationships.

For me, digital nomadism is the wind in the sails. It’s the force that will push me beyond the boundaries of my own imagination, creativity and resourcefulness. It’s the source of infinite thoughts, memories, experiences and stories that I can share with whomever I please.

The inspiration

Where did I get my inspiration from?

A book!

The Cargo Ship Diaries by Niall Doherty.

In his book, Niall reflects on some of his most interesting stories and experiences as he took approximately three years to circle the globe without flying, all while working as a freelance web developer.

I would recommend everyone read the book themselves, but for me, this was a journey of determination, immense work on oneself and all the intermittent successes and failures it brought.

For anyone thinking about doing the same, here are some photos of places I’d like to visit (from unsplash.com), for additional inspiration😊

However, ironically, I believe that dreams should be approached rationally. If it was easy, it wouldn’t be a dream! Despite the “holiday lifestyle” image often associated with digital nomadism, it’s actually a tremendous effort that involves discipline, careful planning and out of the box thinking. But, with the right mindset… there’s no impossible task!

Dream No Matter What!

You may or not share the same feelings about becoming a digital nomad, but one point I wanted to bring across is that it’s good to be a dreamer!!! Thoughts are material! The more you think about it, the more of it will become reality. That’s a simple “fact” of life😊

And it really doesn’t matter whether you succeed. If you do… great, and if you don’t… even better! You will have something to work and look forwards to!
