Greetings to this new brave world of creators that is the Steemit community!
Considering I’m brand spankin’ new to this, it seems appropriate to introduce myself:
Who am I?

My name is Chase Celorie, I grew up in Philomath, Oregon, and I am a recent graduate from Oregon State University with a BFA degree in Digital Communication Arts. Although my passions lie primarily in the broad realm of visual and auditory production (i.e. cinematography, music production, post-production), this network has given me a fresh desire to lay out my thoughts and ideas in the form of text.
What work have I done?
For the last three years, I have had opportunities producing and editing digital media for a couple different organizations, and now operate as a freelance videographer:
I worked for two years as a student videographer/editor for the Oregon State Football program where I filmed at practices/events/games then edit a recap of the event. There is an unbelievable amount of energy involved in the sport of football, so it was an exciting organization to be involved in for that reason.
I was a leader of an OSU Club called C.ore Freeride (a ski and snowboard club) for three years. I was in charge of the media and videography. I headed a production team that partook in something called RedBull BracketReel, a "best-edit" competition where college club teams are lined up in a tournament bracket and compete head to head through four rounds.
With freelancing, I’ve worked with a broad spectrum of companies, primarily focused on producing marketing and promotional content. Dutch Bros, Deschutes Brewery, Oregon State Greek Life, and Heresco Chiropractic are a few I’ve worked with.
What is my mission?
As an artist, I strive to effectively inspire meaningful emotion via videography and music production. I am always searching for ways to improve my storytelling ability because I am fascinated by the power held within visuals, audio, and the fusion of the two. I firmly believe these new media have the ability of enabling people to see past their own perspective and open their mindset to an array of possibilities beyond their previous horizon of thought.
Although we’ve entered into this new age of digital globalization, it is still easy to feel separated or distant from societies unfamiliar to our own. It’s true, we are all different in many ways, which can make seeing eye-to-eye challenging; but what many fail to recognize is the beauty in our uniqueness. There is always something that can be learned from a foreign perspective. Yet, even as we are all distinct individuals, we can still identify as one: humanity.
It’s cliché, I know, but if there’s one thing that prevails among humanity (other than craving food, sleep, and sex of course) it is the fact that we are engineered to feel for each other. Empathy has many forms but ultimately is universal, and I believe it is the key to a more fulfilled, symbiotic society. I feel I have a responsibility to use my talents and passion to help bring humanity together the best way I can, and utilize my creative mind to encourage isolating barriers to be broken.
What should you expect from my content?
Due to this amazing new platform that incentivizes discussion and collaboration, I wish to be just that. I will post various content that hopefully inspires YOU to respond and discuss the topics I bring up. I will primarily focus on the subject of creativity and “thinking outside the box,” but I will also be posting my current projects as they’re created: videos, photos, and music.
My goal is to use this platform as a self-motivator for my writing and creative projects, as there are many struggles I encounter everyday while attempting to create. In fact, I will also write about mentioned struggles in hopes you all can relate and give me feedback on how to fix creative blocks. I want to be a source of inspiration and blaze a new trail of abstract thought.
Cheers fellow Steemers!
