This week in Splinterlands it's a fun topic for the Community Engagement Challenge where Card Synargy and good combinations of cards needs to be highlighted.
Card Synergy = Fun Aspect of The Game!
Discovering solid card combinations and putting them to work on the battlefield is one of the fun aspects of Splinterlands. Many of them involve the expensive overpowered cards and are used all the time by the players who own those. However, there are also some that are affordable which really work well. Some of them I just discovered last month while playing Survival Mode Manually while being up against opponents who used them...
Here are some of my favorites that can be used with many different game rules:
#1 Immortalis + Mycelic Infantry
These are 2 affordable Chaos Legion Cards that match really well as Summoner & Main Tank. I always disregarded the Mycelic Infantry because it only has 1 Speed while it is a very cheap card at just 3$-4$ for a Max Level Card. However, having the combination of both Shield (as a Monster Ability) while also getting Void (As A Summoner Ability) really makes this one into a very hard to kill tank as the 10 Health + 3 Armor effectively becomes 20 Health & 6 Armor since all incoming attack is halved. It recently became one of the options I go-to in survival with some good success and I will continue to use it going forward.
In a Recent Survival Mode Battle (
Link) if managed to keep all my cards alive against a Max Level opponent.

#2 Drybone Megalodon + Ferox Defender
I'm always quite late catching up with the new abilities that come with the latest sets that are released. One of them is the Flank ability which was somewhat a counter against Possibilus as all Summoners now have a way to give a 2nd take reach. However, most of the cards with this ability are not the best tanks by themselves. The Combination where the Ferox Defender gets reach behind the Drybone Megalodon however has a nice synergy. The Defender has really great abilities giving all other cards armor + repair but does not really work as a tank it it's crazy vulnerable. The combination however makes the Drybone Megalodon (especially when Magic is also countered or forbidden) a good tank since it gets extra armor which can be repaired. The Fire Summoner also is good for Melee generally so this is a combination that I'm using more often lately. These on top are 2 Soulbound Reward Cards so they are basically free to collect and use.
#3 Wailing Wraith + Ravenhood Warden
Death is one of the real low mana Splinters and the Wailing Wraith card of the Rebellion set is one of the cards that made it even stronger in that regard. Especially combined with the Ravenhood Warden in the backline. For just 4 Mana, the Wailing Wraith that way gives 3 Melee attack + 4 Shield Attack on medium speed while also being able to apply affliction while lowering all armor by the opponent by -2. For just 4 mana tis is just insane and the card is also protected in 2nd place to stay alive multiple turns. Add to this the possibility of playing the 1-mana Shadow Presence which gives it 1 extra melee attack and 1 extra Health.

The Wailing Wraith is actually the only Rebellion Set card that I bought off the market at max level to have fun with as I can see how at just a supply of 4,333 and the ability to play in Modern once the next set comes out it holds up in value. It's also so much cheaper to specifically buy cards on the market instead of trying to get them leveled up through packs. So far I haven't played with it a lot yet but I'm sure there will be spots in Survival mode where it will easily win me the match.
#4 Lily Shieldpaw + Nightmare
This is probably my favorite combination that opponents tend to have the hardest time to break as the Lily Shieldpaw summoner Directs the attack to the Nightmare which has high speed and can be missed by magic attack. So unless Jacek is played or True Strike it tends to be impossible to hit given that it's safe to use all backline cards to increase the straight of this combo. You also need to add extra speed, add the Blind ability, and possibly have 1 tank heal or the deflect ability on the 2nd position card.
Conclusion!
Card Synergy is one of the fun things about Splinterlands and I will go through the other posts of this challenge of I find some time to potentially discover a couple new ones that I can put to use on the battlefield.
