CBRS Channel Podcast 20 | Community, Contests, and the Future of Hive

2025-03-06T22:54:06

Hello Hive ❤️

The CBRS Channel #Podcast has reached its milestone 20th episode, a testament to the dedication and passion behind this project. As always, the podcast is packed with insights, humor, and valuable discussions about Hive, #Web3, and the broader crypto ecosystem. This episode covered a range of topics, including contest updates, Hive's outreach strategies, and the role of #decentralization in community-driven projects. Let’s dive into the key highlights.

A Bumpy Start and Technical Hiccups

Before getting into the main topics, the hosts addressed why this episode was delayed. A previous recording featuring a guest was scrapped due to a technical issue—the camera lost focus throughout the entire podcast. Despite the setback, the #CBRS team remains committed to improving their setup and ensuring top-quality production. They are also preparing for a special guest appearance in mid-next month, which promises to be highly engaging for the Hive #community.

Moon Karts Infographic Contest: Refining the Rules

The #MoonKarts infographic contest recently concluded with over 50 submissions. While many entries showcased excellent #design, some lacked depth in their written explanations. To enhance the quality of future contests, the CBRS team is implementing new rules:
  • Participants must use accounts that are at least a few weeks old to prevent double entries.
  • Submissions must include a detailed write-up explaining the design choices, color schemes, and overall creative process.
  • Clear criteria will be set to ensure that high-effort entries receive proper recognition and rewards.
Additionally, the team highlighted how well-structured articles tend to receive more curation and engagement. They used the example of a user named @ravenmus1c, whose detailed post attracted significant curation from key Hive Whales. The lesson? Quality content matters, and effort pays off!

The Impact of the 50 HIVE Giveaway

The recent 50 HIVE giveaway was a massive success, generating substantial engagement on both Hive and X. The event encouraged users to follow @Hive-Echo on Hive and X, ultimately increasing their reach. In fact, Hive-Echo gained around 130-140 new followers on X as a result of the giveaway.
Perhaps the most exciting outcome was that a completely new user, outside of the Hive ecosystem, successfully created a Hive account and participated in the contest. The CBRS team is now guiding this new member through the onboarding process, demonstrating how giveaways can serve as an effective method for attracting new users to the platform.

Hive-Echo Call to Action: Still Ongoing

@Hive-Echo’s initiative to encourage users to post short-form videos about Hive is still running. Changes were made to the reward structure, making it even more lucrative for participants:
Instead of a flat 50 HIVE reward for the top weekly post, the winning post now receives 100% beneficiary rewards from Hive-Echo’s announcement post. This has led to rewards exceeding 68 HIVE in some cases.
To keep things fair, CBRS voluntarily stepped back from competing in this round, allowing new users to win. We are asking @neopch to do thisame. To also keep things fair and not to loose any users @neopch and his team should come up with a new way of choosing a winner. What about if CBRS team would spin the wheel of names?
The Hive-Echo campaign is proving that engaging content combined with strategic outreach can significantly boost Hive’s presence on platforms like X and Reddit.

Insights from the Hive Community Podcast

The CBRS team participated in the Hive Thrive Community Hour on Discord, which featured key figures like @Blocktrades, @Blocktrades, and @Blocktrades Several major topics were discussed, including:
  • The current state of the Hive Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) and the need for improved transparency.
  • Ideas for restructuring DHF proposals into tiers, making it easier for smaller projects to get funding.
  • A push for better reporting from projects that receive large amounts of funding (e.g., 3,000 HBD per day projects should be required to provide regular updates).
  • The importance of focusing Hive’s marketing efforts on key selling points such as fast transactions, decentralized data storage, and its community-driven governance model.
This community-driven discussion underscored the need for more structured proposal systems, allowing both small and large projects to thrive on Hive.

Web3 Amsterdam: A Major Opportunity for Hive

Hive is a platinum sponsor at the upcoming Web3 Amsterdam event on March 13-14. The CBRS team is eager to attend and possibly set up a podcast session at the event. @CrimsonClad will be a key speaker, alongside other notable names in the Web3 space, including Joel @CrimsonClad from Dash.
Users interested in attending can reach out to @GuiltyParties for free tickets, as Hive’s sponsorship ensures broad access for community members. The more Hivians attend the better the promotion.

Splinterlands’ New Survival Mode: A Game-Changer

@Splinterlands recently launched its Survival Mode, which has taken the community by storm. This new mode introduces a high-stakes challenge where players temporarily lose their cards after #battles, leading to intense strategic #gameplay. Community reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with many stating that this is the most exciting #Splinterlands feature to date.

CBRS Presence on Reddit

CBRS has started actively engaging on #Reddit, targeting major crypto communities like r/Bitcoin (7.8 million members). Their strategy involves posting Hive-related content with a focus on real-world use cases, such as purchasing goods via #Bitcoin Lightning with Hive.
Initial results have been impressive:
One post about spending Hive via Bitcoin Lightning received over 3,400 views within an hour.
Another post documenting a lunch purchase with Hive reached 6,600 views.
This experiment has shown that Reddit can be a powerful tool for driving new attention to Hive, proving the importance of expanding outreach beyond X. All of this thankt to @poshtoken 😍

Joining the One Bitcoin Club

CBRS has officially joined the One Bitcoin Club (OBC), thanks to @Starkerz who sent the required 5,000 satoshis for registration. Their involvement aims to promote the integration of Hive with Bitcoin Lightning, leveraging @Starkerz to receive earnings directly on Hive accounts.
Additionally, CBRS is planning an upcoming infographic contest related to OBC, which could help educate users on how to get started with the club.

Final Thoughts: The Future is Bright

From contest improvements and successful giveaways to Hive’s growing presence on platforms like Reddit and X, the CBRS podcast continues to highlight the importance of strategic community engagement. As the Web3 space evolves, Hive is positioning itself as a leading decentralized platform, and CBRS is at the forefront of these efforts.
With summer around the corner, the team is already brainstorming ideas for outdoor podcasts, potentially hosting episodes from the beach—an exciting new direction for CBRS Channel.
Stay tuned for more, and as always, keep pushing forward in the Hive ecosystem!
