Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today

Final Frozen Monochrome Monday
The winter has certainly been a long and cold one!
I've lived on the planet for a number of years now, and I've lived in regions my entire life where we experience winters. We get the cold, snow, frozen things and all that. The good thing is that I can appreciate the changes in those years as they go by. Some years the winter is incredibly mild with very little cold or snowy weather. Other years, such as the one we had this year, are completely filled with absolutely bitter cold temperatures. When those winters are over, it is certainly a breath of fresh air!
For this week, I decided to dig back into the archives of my previous black and white pictures to find some fun ones of the frozen wilderness. Granted this is not deep in the woods of nowhere, but it's around the cities that we live near and spend a lot of time in. They are all really nice pictures, that help me look back at how intense the weather could be, or how nice it looks!
One of the rivers that is nearby ended up freezing up the most I've ever seen it. It wasn't at all at a point where we could walk on it, but this is a FAST moving river especially in this area, and that water was frozen solid for a few feet out into the river. That's pretty wild, considering! It also, because of that, was able to produce some pretty sweet ass pictures and sceneries just like this! I love the ice shards on the morning sun, looks awesome.
I absolutely love the look of winter weather on a beach. The lake that we spend a lot of time on has a really wonderful beach, where family has a place on the side of it. We didn't visit it much this year, but that's because we didn't get decent snow with mild temperatures after. We would get snow and then the temperature would DROP to even colder hahaha so it ended up not being very enjoyable.. and we didn't get to go sledding which sucked!
Still though, seeing the snowfall on the sandy beach with the withdrawn water, exposing the shoreline, it was such a beautiful scene! We really got to see a precious moment, because it looks really cool with the water still ice-free instead of frozen solid. It looks cool frozen solid that's for sure, but it has an increased dramatic effect when it is still water.
I think my favorite is for sure this last picture in black and white. The other ones are interesting but this one takes the cake for me! I feel like I use it fairly regularly for posts, so hopefully the picture doesn't get too used up haha.
