Cine TV Community Spotlight #26

2025-03-22T17:15:39
Hello and welcome to the 26TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

The storyline seem like the ordinary but the twisted fates, incomplete throwback stories and friendship fights in between made it unique in many ways. At a point, anyone watching would feel so bad for Soo-Ji who could have just agreed to marry Kwon Si-hyeon when he offered, not bet. It's funny how the bet story lasted through out the whole story, but it didn't turn out the way every viewer would have expected it to (a break up). T

Starting with the unusual creative decision to depict Robbie in a CGI monkey (something that makes perfect sense when we see the film), as well as the recurring use of his brilliant themes throughout the promotional material, it was almost impossible to ignore a project like this. And while I don't deny that it still falls into the typical biopic cliches, I feel there are many positive aspects beyond this that make it worthy of a chance.

Exploring the world of Bollywood, I am not a fan of those genres, I watch them only when highly recommended by someone. There are some actors that, once I realize their presence in a movie, I don't need any recommendations from, and I will guarantee myself they will surely deliver. I can't tell how much I have switched from Bollywood to Kdramas and other movie types. There were times when Bollywood was the talk of the town, if you don't watch it then you must’ve been missing out big time.

So it’s been a minute since I reviewed a movie. It’s just that the urge to watch movies has vanished from inside me. I already said it sometime ago that since I am not a movie lover it’ll take a while for me to start getting used to watching movies like the movie lovers do. For now, I’ve found a bit of inspiration in downloading 2025 movies that I’ve come across and taken interest in it. Yesterday I was able to complete watching a movie that I’ve been watching for about 3 days and I think it’s worth talking about.

I loved the acting in this movie so much. From the kidnapper himself to the genius girl she kidnapped to the detectives. I think my favorite character in this movie was the lead detective. He showed strong character of leadership, and even when nobody saw the strange signs between the kidnapper and the victim, he did. Even when his higher-ups were telling him to give up the case, he stood his ground to make sure the case got solved.

Title: I, Tonya
I don't know exactly how much of it is totally true, but it did change my perspective on how I thought about Tonya Harding, especially when I think back to all of the media coverage and she was just the bad guy or the bad girl as it was. But here, you actually feel sympathy for her. You feel a little sorry because of her circumstances and how she was surrounded by just a whole bunch of annoying set of people.

I like that some of the story deals with gaslighting, which only works to create more of a darkness to the story. There's also a fair amount of spiritualism mixed with art theory that comes into play. And at the beginning of the film, it takes up a little bit of the dialogue time to introduce. Then through the course of the story, the specific topics of spiritualism and art theory are addressed again. I wasn't familiar with either the spiritualist Swedenborg or the artist George Innes. And some of their works play into the themes.

I like the music scenes. I love the scenes where Ayinla was invited to perform for royalties and that gave an insight to how royalties have their events in Yoruba land.
I think I need to talk about the dress code too. It portrays fully the lifestyle of Yoruba people. The dress code is the typical way Yoruba people dress and how they live their lives is also portrayed in the movie. I think we should also talk about the scene where Ajala invited Ayinla and talked about his upcoming tour in London. That was everything.

And there you have it! Congratulations to all those spotlighted this week. We look forward to more exceptional content. And to everyone posting in the community, we look forward to seeing more of you around.
