How you doing Steemians. This is my first #introduceyourself. @papabab introduced me to Steemit. He has been showing me posts and interesting facts about it.
When he visited us, I finally decided to really do it. I am 41 years of old, single, but taken :). I work in a retail store for almost 7 years now. I enjoy working in a customer service field. I am also a part time independent interpreter for Tagalog- English language for 7 years now.
My journey begins for the love of shoes. Not just shoes, but Nine West shoes. :). When I was a kid, my aunts from the US use to go back home (Philippines) for a couple of months to see us. My aunt Pau have the same shoe size as mine. She introduce me to Nine West shoes. I remembered my first hand me down Nine West shoes was colour brown, 3 inches, weaved clogs. It was so comfy and light. I instantly fell in love with it. My eyes lite up with happiness. Aunt Pau’s advice to me was to finish my studies and go abroad so I can buy all the shoes I like. From that time on, I was inspired. I want to have pretty things and nice shoes. Who doesn’t? To motive myself in my studies, I think about shoes and you know what? It worked! I finished my studies, got a Bachelor’s Degree in Office Administration, had a good job in a showbiz company back home. Thank you aunt Pau for inspiring me to finish my studies. After a couple of years of working, I know that I will not be able to buy a pair of Nine West shoes. It was so expensive back home. $100 to $200 which is almost my month’s salary that time. It’s not going to work. I won’t be able to buy a Nine West shoes. An opportunity knocked, to study as a caregiver because my eldest sister’s employer is looking for another caregiver. I grabbed it and was able to to land a work permit in Canada. First month as a caregiver was tough, very tough! When I received my first salary though, guess what I did?? Of course, I got myself Nine West shoes! Not just one, but three haha!!
Anyway, enough of my life story. On with my slam book. Haha! I am a picky eater, but love food. Not so much of a vegetable person or fish. Believe it or not, I learned to eat salmon when I got to Canada. I didn’t know what I was missing hehe. Being picky is not by choice, but because I was allergic to seafoods that includes fish. I am picky, but
I love cooking. Filipino cuisine, pasta and baking. I also like taking photos. Landscape, places, food etc.
My fave sports is Judo. I used to play during my university days holding a brown belt in light weight division. I represented the National Capital Region of the Philippines. They use to call me “one inch” , because when I throw, there is only one inch difference from the mat to your head. My throwing technic is Uchi Matta. I was the tiniest and the lightest judoka during my time. I was in the women’s varsity team of my university and during those time, being a female judoka was a big deal so I didn’t stop. I finished my university as a scholar for four years being a varsity player.
Our not so old picture lol..

When I was working back home from a showbiz company, my job is to edit movies that will be transferred to VHS or DVD. That’s when I discovered I love watching movies. Action, romance, documentaries, cartoon and horror. Like: Air Force One, Amageddon, Maleficent, Mirror Mirror, and a lot more. I love watching Criminal Minds, CSI, Game of Thrones, Strangers Things and a lot more.
I am very happy to be part of Steemit community. To learn, get insights of day to day life, to share my talent. To amazed and to be amazed. I will for sure need a lot of help from you guys and I hope I will not annoy you.
Thank you and nice to meet all of you. :)
