Hello Steemians,
I was introduced to Steemit via a pitch for Steem Power and am so fascinated by the scope of this community that I imagine the crypto aspect will take a back seat to the creative potential. I am a retiring (as in getting ready to write the next chapter in my book of life) software engineer who has been working diligently to bring my musical avocation into the digital age. In the decade before the turn of the century I led a band named UNIT CIRCLE - a spin-off from Gil Scott-Heron's Amnesia Express - that gained modest traction in the Mid-Atlantic region before fizzling after juggling a full time job, a growing family and international travel become too much to manage. With only three of the original band members still living, I recently re-released our debut recording (two singles on Spotify and an EP to drop next month). As I work on transferring 40 years worth of recorded material to digital format I hope to share the transition from piano concepts and multi-overdubbed sketches to finished recording with interested members of the Steemit community while learning how the next generations of musicians are making use of this space.
