Getting to Know: A Night with My Officemates

By @charmingcherry3/11/2026hive-141359

As someone who's new to work, it's really a challenge to introduce yourself to the office. At first, it will feel like being an outsider, or someone walking in an eggshell. But I got lucky to meet amazing people at my new work, and we started getting to know each other even more when we decided to have an overnight staycation. We booked a private resort for our get-together party, and everyone was present there.

When we got there, the first thing we did was settle down in our respective rooms. We have rooms for everyone, and the priority is the girls. The boys chose to sleep in the living room.

After organizing our stuff inside the room, we went outside to prepare for the night and also to start bonding with each other. The girls in the office posed for a group photo in front of a mirror in the living room. We fell in love with the vibe and also wanted to make use of every corner.

After doing all the group photos with the girls, we then headed to the poolside to have our drinking session. It was a table only for those who wanted a drink, but is open to our workmates who wanted to join our conversations.

While drinking and enjoying the night, one of our officemates told us to take a photo with all of us in the frame. We went to an open area where everyone could be seen in the camera, then took our best shots.

Meeting these people was never an accident. It was meant to happen in my life, and I am grateful to share a working environment with them, one that is not messy and toxic.
