Hello, Hiver friends and art lovers! I hope youβre all having a fantastic day. Iβm excited to present my latest coffee artwork just completed today.
This artwork features a solitary figure in a snow-covered forest. I utilized warm browns for the trees, creating a strong contrast with the cool tones of the snow. The overall impact is both serene and slightly melancholic. The impressionistic style emphasizes the mood and atmosphere rather than precise details, showcasing my skill in the coffee medium through the subtle gradations of color and the way light filters through the trees.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece, and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
