Llega el mes de mayo, mes de las flores y de la cruz. Una festividad tradicional en mi país, para conmemorar la crucifixión y resurrección de Jesucristo y agradecer por las bendiciones que nos da la naturaleza con las cosechas.
La cruz de mayo es una celebración religiosa y cultural dónde se reza, hay música, bailes y se decora las cruces con flores.
Mi madre siempre le rendía tributo a la cruz de mayo, adornaba sus cruces de madera con flores de papel, le cantaba y preparaba jugo de maíz pulso...como lo hacían en el pueblo donde nació. Así que de seguro a ella le hubiera gustado mucho está pulsera.

The month of May is here, the month of flowers and the cross. A traditional holiday in my country, to commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to give thanks for the blessings nature gives us with the harvests.
The May Cross is a religious and cultural celebration where people pray, have music, dance, and decorate crosses with flowers.
My mother always paid tribute to the May Cross, adorning her wooden crosses with paper flowers, singing to it, and preparing pulse corn juice...just like they did in the town where she was born. So I'm sure she would have loved this bracelet.
Los materiales que utilice fueron los siguientes:
- Hilo negro encerado: dos hebras de cuarenta centímetros para la base, metro y medio para tejer y cuatro pedacitos de unos veinte centímetros para los brazos de la cruz.
- Mostacillas de colores en para las flores y cristales azules para la cruz.
- Tijera y yesquero.
The materials I used were the following:
- Black waxed thread: two 40-centimeter strands for the base, a meter and a half for weaving, and four small pieces of about 20 centimeters for the arms of the cross.
- Colored beads for the flowers and blue crystals for the cross.
- Scissors and a lighter.

Paso # 01.
Comienzó introduciendo un cristal por uno de los extremo de la hilos base y le hago un nudo simple, cortando y quemando los sobrantes de hilo. Dejo luego unos ocho centímetros y realizó otro nudo simple.
Luego anudo el hilo tejedor y comienzo a tejer algunos nudos planos.
Step 1.
I started by inserting a crystal through one end of the base thread and tying a simple knot, cutting and burning the excess thread. I then left about eight centimeters and tied another simple knot.
Then I tied the weaving thread and began weaving some flat knots.
Paso # 02.
Después comienzo hacer las flores colocando tres mostacillas en cada extremo de la hilos tejedores y una en los hilos base. Luego la cierro con un nudo plano...tejo otros cuatro y repito lo mismo lo mismo sólo que con otro color de Mostacillas.
Así hasta hacer cuatro flores.... para luego introducir el primer cristal que sería la cabeza de la cruz.
Step 2.
Next, I begin making the flowers by placing three seed beads on each end of the threads and one on the base threads. Then, I close it with a flat knot... I weave another four and repeat the same process, only with a different color of seed beads.
This continues until I have four flowers... and then I insert the first crystal, which will be the head of the cross.
Paso # 03.
En cada hilo tejedor uno con nudos alondras dos hebras en cada hilo...y sigo tejiendo nudos planos, luego cristal , asi hasta tener el tronco de la cruz.
Repito el procedimiento de inicio para hacer las cuatro flores.
Step 3.
On each thread, I weave one with lark's head knots, two strands on each thread...and continue weaving flat knots, then crystal knots, until I have the trunk of the cross.
I repeat the initial procedure to make the four flowers.
Paso # 04.
Para los brazos tejo tres nudos planos , introduzco un cristal, lo aseguro con dos nudos planos y uno simple, corto y quemó.
Step 4.
For the arms, I tie three flat knots, insert a crystal, secure it with two flat knots and one simple knot, cut it, and burn it.
