¿Y cómo está mi gente linda en HIVE? Es increíble como se nos pasa el tiempo y ya no vemos pasar los días, la verdad es que no sé qué esté pasando en el mundo, el universo o lo que sea pero lo que sí puedo entender es que la vida se nos está yendo más rápido de lo que creíamos y sino despertamos a tiempo entonces no vamos a disfrutar de nada.
And how are my beautiful people at HIVE? It is incredible how time passes and we do not see the days go by, the truth is that I do not know what is happening in the world, the universe or whatever but what I can understand is that life is going faster than we thought and if we do not wake up on time then we will not enjoy anything.
Recién pasó abril, un mes hermoso no solo por la primavera sino tambien porque cumplo años y eso como es costumbre me hago un regalo de vida. Todos los que me conocen saben cuánto me gusta viajar y conocer cada rincón de mi paìs Venezuela. Es por eso que este año agarre mi maleta y me fui a conocer la tierra donde viven mis sobrinos, un lugar llamado Machiques en el Estado Zulia.
April has just passed, a beautiful month not only because of the spring but also because I have a birthday and as usual I give myself a gift of life. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love to travel and know every corner of my country Venezuela. That's why this year I grabbed my suitcase and went to know the land where my nephews live, a place called Machiques in the State of Zulia.
EL Estado Zulia por naturaleza es de clima caliente, pero gracias a Dios me adapté con facilidad y pase 8 días increíbles, llenos de mucha actividad.
Llegamos el sábado antes del domingo de ramos y mi cuñada nos recibió con los brazos abiertos, nos tenía preparado un hervido riquísimo y el aire acondicionado nos refrescó del calor que habia en la calle.
Zulia State by nature has a hot climate, but thank God I adapted easily and spent 8 incredible days, full of lots of activity.
We arrived on Saturday before Palm Sunday and my sister-in-law welcomed us with open arms, she had prepared us a delicious stew and the air conditioning cooled us from the heat of the street.
Las horas del medio día son las más fuertes para el calor, asi que Marlene no apaga el aire en toda la mañana ya que a eso de las dos de la tarde se va la luz por tres o cuatro horas. En fin ese día disfrutamos mucho y reímos bastante.
The midday hours are the hottest for the heat, so Marlene does not turn off the air conditioning all morning because at about two o'clock in the afternoon the power goes out for three or four hours. Anyway, that day we had a lot of fun and laughed a lot.
Al día siguiente me fui a misa de Ramos y me pareció muy bonita la participación de la gente, allí en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen se realizaron todas las actividades de la semana mayor y fue excelente para mí ya que la iglesia quedaba cerca y pude asistir en varias oportunidades, la verdad es que eso me hizo muy feliz.
The next day I went to Palm Sunday mass and I found the participation of the people very nice, there in the Church of Our Lady of Carmen all the activities of the week were held and it was excellent for me because the church was close and I could attend several times, the truth is that this made me very happy.
Poco a poco se fueron pasando los días, mis sobrinos querían llevarnos a varios sitios, la primera vez que me llevaron a pasear fue a la ciudad de Maracaibo, a dos horas de Machiques. Ir y venir me gustó mucho porque no paramos de hablar de diferentes temas y reímos mucho con las ocurrencias de mi prima Decxy.
Little by little the days went by, my nephews wanted to take us to various places, the first time they took me for a walk was to the city of Maracaibo, two hours from Machiques. Going back and forth I liked it a lot because we did not stop talking about different topics and we laughed a lot with the witticisms of my cousin Decxy.
Recuerdo que ese día pude ver como a las 6 de la mañana unas familias de una etnia indígena llevaba los restos o huesos de un familiar para hacer un ritual, mi sobrino Alejandro nos contó que eso lo hacen ellos para homenajear al difunto, la tradición indica limpiar los huesos e invitar a toda la familia a una comida que a la final se convierte en algo parecido a una fiesta.
I remember that day I could see how at 6 o'clock in the morning some families of an indigenous ethnic group took the remains or bones of a relative to make a ritual, my nephew Alejandro told us that they do that to honor the deceased, the tradition indicates to clean the bones and invite the whole family to a meal that eventually becomes something like a party.
Más tarde vimos como los integrantes de otra etnia indígena detenía los carros para pedir dinero, osea que es algo así como un peaje. Según cuentan es algo común en el lugar y las autoridades no hacen nada para detenerlos; eso fue algo que pude comprobar ya que una de esas alcabalas estaba a escasos dos kilómetros de un comando de la guardia.
El estado Zulia tiene una diversidad de etnias indígenas: Añù, Wayuu, Yukpa, Barì y Japrerìa, y al parecer no tienen la ayuda del estado y las autoridades por el contrario en vez de ayudarlos les faltan el respeto en muchos aspectos. Creo que esta fue la única parte que no me gustó de mi viaje, pero son cosas que hay que vivirlas para entenderlas.
Later we saw how the members of another indigenous ethnic group stopped the cars to ask for money, so it is something like a toll. According to what they say it is something common in the place and the authorities do nothing to stop them; this was something that I could verify since one of these “alcabalas” was only two kilometers away from a command of the guard.
The state of Zulia has a diversity of indigenous ethnic groups: Añù, Wayuu, Yukpa, Barì and Japrerìa, and apparently they have no help from the state and the authorities on the contrary instead of helping them they lack respect in many aspects. I think this was the only part of my trip that I didn't like, but these are things that you have to live to understand.
Pasando a otro detalle importante de mi viaje me gustó conocer Casigua, allí es donde pude tomar las fotos de los increíbles paisajes y sobre todo pude conocer los sembradíos de Palma de Aceite.
Son hectáreas completas de este producto y que bueno saber que estas tierras producen algo bueno. La verdad es que no sabía mucho de que trataba esto pero mi sobrina Lismar me supo explicar e hizo entender lo importante que es para los habitantes de Casigua el comercio de palma. Por otra parte son zonas que se han dedicado desde hace muchos años a la ganadería y en la actualidad se han dedicado más a la crianza del búfalo. Pero de eso me gustaría hablarles en otra oportunidad.
Moving on to another important detail of my trip, I enjoyed visiting Casigua, where I was able to take pictures of the incredible landscapes and above all I was able to see the oil palm plantations.
There are complete hectares of this product and it is good to know that these lands produce something good. The truth is that I did not know much about what this was about but my niece Lismar was able to explain to me and made me understand how important it is for the inhabitants of Casigua the palm trade. On the other hand, these are areas that have been dedicated for many years to cattle raising and nowadays they are more dedicated to buffalo breeding. But I would like to talk about that in another opportunity.

De resto puedo decir que mi viaje fue increíble, sentir el cariño de la familia, tener nuevas experiencias y generar nuevos recuerdos es lo que nos dice que valió la pena hacer el esfuerzo de viajar.
Otherwise I can say that my trip was incredible, feeling the affection of the family, having new experiences and generating new memories is what tells us that it was worth the effort to travel.
Fuimos al rio que está ubicado dentro de una finca muy bonita, allí pudimos no solo bañarnos y ver paisajes sino tambien rescatamos un ave que parecía un búho. El ave estaba en las orillas del rio y nos causó mucha ternura, no sabíamos si se habia caído del nido y como iba hacer para regresar si aún no podía volar. Así que de inmediato mi sobrina Limar que ama a los animales lo adopto provisionalmente mientras crece y empieza a volar. La idea es soltarlo en la finca para que vuelva a su hábitat natural.
We went to the river that is located within a very beautiful farm, there we could not only swim and see landscapes but we also rescued a bird that looked like an owl. The bird was on the banks of the river and caused us a lot of tenderness, we did not know if it had fallen from the nest and how it was going to return if it could not fly yet. So immediately my niece Limar, who loves animals, adopted him provisionally while he grows up and starts to fly. The idea is to release him on the farm so he can return to his natural habitat.
Para esta publicación le pedí que me enviara una foto de su estado actual y me dio mucha alegría saber que ya está más formado y protegido de cualquier peligro. Mi sobrina es experta en eso, rescatando animales, del tipo que sea, los cura, los alimenta y luego les busca hogar, así que en mejores manos no podía haber quedado Yupita, asi le pusieron de cariño.
For this publication I asked her to send me a picture of his current state and I was very happy to know that he is now more formed and protected from any danger. My niece is an expert in that, rescuing animals, whatever kind it is, she cures them, feeds them and then finds them homes, so Yupita could not have been in better hands, that's how they put her love.
Y que les puedo decir del rio, estaba increíble, el agua estaba muy fresca y pudimos pasar una tarde disfrutando de ese maravilloso lugar.
And what can I tell you about the river, it was incredible, the water was very fresh and we were able to spend an afternoon enjoying this wonderful place.
A nadie le gustan las despedidas, pero el día tenía que llegar, junto con mi esposo retornamos a nuestro hogar pero antes pasamos por nuestro amado Estado Táchira para visitar y saludar a nuestras respectivas madres.
Nobody likes goodbyes, but the day had to come, together with my husband we returned home but first we went through our beloved Táchira State to visit and greet our respective mothers.
Luego de tan excelente viaje no me queda más que agradecer a Dios por haberme dado la oportunidad de regalarme ese viaje y poder conocer a mí amada Venezuela, sus costumbres y tradiciones.
After such an excellent trip I can only thank God for having given me the opportunity to give me the gift of this trip and to get to know my beloved Venezuela, its customs and traditions.
