Varanasi In Greyscale
Not many words can describe this monumental ancient city. Even though it has modern infrastructure, tourism and technology, it has kept its charms of traditional identity.
The ghats and the first row of buildings next to the Ganges are almost like cliffs to protect the town from the floods that come every year according to the snow melting in the Himalayas combined with the monsoon season.
The boats were crucial probably in the past but today those are used mostly for tourists. Still these hundreds of boats make the whole scene more alive.
This is my favorite shot and I would like this one to be considered as an entry to the monomad challenge.
