If wishes were horses,
Beggars they say would ride.
If wishes were the rain,
A lot of us will drown.
You wake up and wish,
If only I can eat this or that,
You stay put in bed and keep wishing,
Trust me, hunger is your friend.
Well, except for intervention,
A friend, a spouse, a sibling, a parent,
Someone around you,
Someone who cares enough.
You wish to be on top your class,
But you sleep while others read,
Play games when you should sleep,
Your distraction is topnotch.
Go on wishing, go on,
Easy to fool yourself,
Wishful thinking never got anyone,
Anywhere but wishing.
It's good to wish,
Oh yes, it is,
However, wishing isn't enough,
Act you must!
You want something,
You must work for it.
Staying on top your game,
Requires going the extra mile.
Work!
Work harder!
Pray!
Pray more!
