The month of December is already well underway and the days are getting colder. It used to snow at this time of the year, but in recent years there has been less and less snow in South Banat. It's Sunday afternoon, the weather is gloomy, but I decided to take a walk in the city center and breathe fresh and cool air. I had a lot of responsibilities at home and I really enjoyed the walk. Walking around the city center in the Pedestrian Zone where there is no traffic, I noticed that it was deserted and that there were almost no people, only a few people passed by. But my attention was occupied by the pigeons that gathered in a flock near the Cross in the very center of the city. Whether they are hungry or feel the writing of God remains a mystery, but it is certain that they gathered in front of the Cross as if they were offering the Evening Prayer to God and thanksgiving for the past day.

I smiled and continued walking through the city center. I was passing by a sign that says VRŠAC in Cyrillic

To the right of the cross is a covered fountain. I would say that she is now hibernating and waiting for warm weather to work again and let the water falls with lights and make a romantic night like in a fairy tale.

Then I passed the bust of Vinko Lozić. It is a character from Jovan Steria Popović's song, otherwise he is the mascot of Vršac and the Vršac manifestation "Grape Harvest Days".

Below the bust is a plaque that says VINKO LOZIĆ Vršac bohemian Born in the works of Jovan Steria Popović, he lives in the hearts of the people of Vršac
The statue is modeled after the character of the actor Tihomir Tika Paunović

To the left of Vinko Lozić's statue, my attention was caught by a scene in front of a coffee bar. Even if the street is deserted and the tables and chairs are empty during the winter, the entrance to the cafe bar is surrounded by the figure of Santa Claus and a branch of the Christmas tree and decorations. I stopped for a moment to enjoy the nice feeling that the holidays are upon us and took these photos.

Then I slowly walked through the city center and a tree caught my eye from which the yellow leaves had not yet fallen.

The center was still deserted without people. And during the summer, many people walk here.

I continued my walk along Dvorska Street and I came to the Bishop's Palace and the Serbian Orthodox Church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker of Mirliki. The church is currently in the phase of renovation of the external facade, so I did not photograph it from the front, but from the back.

The Bishop's Palace or the building where Metropolitan Nicanor of Banat of the Serbian Orthodox Church lives is one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in Vršac. The roof construction green colour gives it a special look.

Walking through the city like that, I came to the Romanian Orthodox Church. The relics of Saint Nektarios, the Miracle Worker of Aegina, have been in this church since a year ago. This makes this church special and many people and believers come here to pray in front of the holy relics and ask for a blessing for health, especially for the sick suffering from cancer.

I slowly walked home from the city center. On my way home I had to pass by the Catholic Church of Saint Gerhard. What makes this church special is that it is very tall, built in the Gothic style and has a large rosette above the entrance door. The church is built with two towers and is a symbol of the town of Vršac.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post. On another occasion, I will introduce you to more interesting houses and buildings in Vršac, when I will again take a leisurely walk around the city. Thanks for reading and see you soon.
