Love cannot be forced, for love is given. It can only be freely given.
That is not to say love cannot be given in error, or through delusion. There is no greater delusion than we ourselves engage in because we think we want what the delusion seems to deliver.
I have been in love with a lie. I have been in love, and convinced through illusion that I was not.
Yet love continues.
Are we, as humans, doomed to love no matter the consequences?
Or does love come through no matter the opposition?
Does it matter which? Or both?
I love. I love some who will never know, I love my children who are not allowed to know, I love someone, I'm sure, who could not care less if I love or not.
If I am loved, I am not aware of it. Those I love are not aware of it.
Yet all that does not deny love. Love remains, regardless of reciprocation or acknowledgement.
Unrequited love is nothing more than ego. Either love is given, or it is not. Love is not conditional.
I love.
