I am a little tired of confusing opinion with information, something that the editors of newspapers, the presenters of television programs should know, we must separate information from opinion, can a newspaper give an opinion? Of course, everyone has their own editorial line, can a television give an opinion?, perfectly, but what cannot deceive people, manipulate them and predispose them.
In a news that is decent, opinion has to be perfectly differentiated from information and I am going to give you an example: what is opinion? Opinion is, for example, whether you like Donald Trump or dislike him, you have the right in your headline, depending on your knowledge and your morals, to criticize Donald Trump or praise him, in the same way that you can support Pedro Sánchez or disappoint him, that is perfectly legitimate, it is normal, it is called opinion, but in journalism opinion has to be separated from information, because a time that you are reading the opinion column, which is why when good journalism was done they put opinions and you gave your opinion, then there is the information.
Information is, for example, that "the candidate Simion in Romania has won 40% of the votes in the first round" that is information, opinions "the ultranationalist Simion obtains 40% of the votes", information, that is, "Donald Trump jokes about wanting to be Pope", opinion, that is, "new idea of Trump, he wants to be Pope", that apart from manipulating, it is a lie, it is a simple joke, if you don't like jokes or you don't like President Trump very well, you put it in the opinion column but you have to let the readers, viewers or listeners decide, based on the information they receive, whether he is a good president or a bad one, whether they like him or not, but it is good that you predispose people.
I doubt that Donald Trump wants to be pope, it's a joke, but the servile press manipulates, deceives people and what the anecdote is, it assumes it as a category and what a curious thing, same joke in this case Pedro Sánchez and attention because I have chosen the ABC I have not chosen the country or the being that nor CER, CIS, the ABC that is not suspected of being pro-government, same joke and this is what we find, if I were Trump what would I put? What you have to do is give me the data, I'm tired of the press mixing opinion and information, the press has to give information and that's it, and does it have the right to give an opinion? Of course it does, depending on its editorial line, but the reader has to quickly identify that what that media outlet is saying is opinion, not information, and for that in all newspapers there is a section that puts an editorial or that puts an opinion, where it is the media outlet that expresses the sympathies or rejection of whoever it is, identifying what that is, an opinion, But lately it's all opinion disguised as information.
