My name is Char and I'm beyond ecstatic to be a part of this wonderful community. I was recommended to join steemit through my friend @mindhacks and I'm ready to get started.
First off, a bit of information about myself. I am a twenty-four year old software engineer working for a tech company in the majestic city of Seattle-Washington. My interests span out quite a bit, ranging from technology/STEM to all forms of media; television, music, movies, video games, and books, to name a few. Black culture takes precedence over my interests though.
That last part is the most important aspect of who I am. Being in the tech industry, as well as being Black, makes me out to be a 'societal-unicorn', of sorts. My very existence is an anomaly, of which I will be detailing out in my posts to come, and I hope y'all will come to embrace as much as take part in the discussions that I'll soon present. I will be using this platform to discuss, the sometimes difficult, process of looking and being different than most of my peers, to talk about my interests in all forms, and to state my opinions on recent and current events taking place in the world.
One final thing: my word is not law. I am not god, though, I do think I am A god; something I can discuss in a future post. I will be using this platform to broadcast my thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a respectful and dignified manner. I expect the comments to be the same, respectful and thoughtful. All comments which are sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or considered at all offensive, will immediately be reported/deleted. Don't say I didn't warn you.
