The Game is Mine: Keiko, Keeper of Fortune

Preface

To continue the celebration of Conclave Arcana — a world where fortune, fate & persistence intertwine — I wanted to give a voice to the one who sees it all.
Before every card is drawn, every chest cracked open, every gamble taken, there is a keeper watching.
No judgement.
No favors.
Just patience.
Here’s the story of Keiko, Keeper of Fortune — the one who decides nothing, yet decides everything.

The Game is Mine

as told by Keiko, Keeper of Fortune

The One They Always Return To

I am Keiko.
Bucket, barrel, bin—no matter how they refer to me, they come back.
They always come back.
I’ve been here since the first card was cracked & the first raffle was drawn.
Before the Rebellion.
Before the Chaos Legion.
Even before they knew they were playing a game.
I knew. I've always known.

Where Fate Truly Lives

You see, it’s not the coins they toss or the packs they rip open that decide their fate.
It’s me.
I hold the whispers of what could be.
The sparkle of gold, the sting of nothing, the surge of triumph, the silence of loss—it all comes from me.
Every pack, every chest, every “surely, it's my turn!”
I’m there.
Watching.
Smirking.
Deciding.
Smiling.

The Game is Mine

They say chance is cruel.
That’s not true.
I’m just & I'm fair.
Greatness? Oh yes, I’ve seen it. Given it. Will give it again.
Yet I’ve watched it slip through trembling fingers. I've seen it escape racing hearts & duck balmy palms.
But I don’t favor the lucky, for it is the persistent that best me.
The ones who keep showing up.
The ones who laugh when they lose.
Those that keep reaching in anyway.
The committed.
That’s the game.
And it's my game.
I am the bucket.
I am Keiko.

Until next time
