Greetings friends! Today is a nice sunny day here in Portugal, so I decided to go out into the field to create super original content. For the first time since I started with my HIVE account, I will publish in this community and in a way give a big thank you to @appreciator who is undoubtedly the whale who has helped me the most. I could say that if it weren't for this magnificent team I would feel like my posts are not appreciated, since I put so much effort into them! Maybe my content is a little out of some users' "comfort zone", since some are very scientific, but I can't hide what I am!! Being a BIOLOGIST and not working in my field because there are no jobs in Portugal, somehow I feel that HIVE does give me the opportunity to express myself and feel that "I can practice my profession".🌍👩🏻🏫🚩
¡Saludos amigos! ¡Hoy es un día soleado y agradable aquí en Portugal, por tanto, decidí salir al campo para crear contenido superoriginal, por primera vez desde que estoy con mi cuenta en HIVE publicaré en esta comunidad y de alguna forma darle un gran agradecimiento a appreciator que sin duda es la ballena que más me ha ayudado y podría afirmar que si no fuera por ese magnífico equipo sentiría que mis post no son apreciados, ya que les pongo tanto empeño! Quizás mi contenido está un poco fuera de "la zona de confort" de algunos usuarios, ya que algunos son muy científicos, ¡pero no puedo ocultar lo que soy!! I made a gif and a mapping of the studied area, let's say it was a straight line "transect" which covered 927.42m, less than a kilometer, I am exactly in the "Lourenço" mountain range whose height varies between 300-450 meters, from now on an indication that the orchids present here "object of study of the post" grow over 250 meters, previously we cited a reference where they explained to us that this area had more than 25 species of Orchids, I did not have high expectations today, but finding a new species in my inventory was a success.🌻🚩
Les hice un gif y un mapeo de la zona estudiada, digamos que fue una "transecta" en línea recta la cual cubría 927.42m no llego a un kilómetro estoy exactamente en la sierra "Lourenço" cuya altura varía entre los 300-450 metros desde ya un indicativo que las orquídeas aquí presente "objeto de estudio del post" crecen sobre los 250 metros, anteriormente citamos una referencia donde nos explicaban que esta zona presentaba más de 25 especies de Orquídeas, no tenía grandes expectativas hoy, pero conseguirme con una especie nueva en mi inventario fue todo un éxito. 🌺💻

El gif que les presento es la caminata que hice de los 927 metros como puedes ver, el camino tiene vegetación de lado y lado, las orquídeas siempre prefieren zonas con arbustos bajos, por eso los caminos y las carreteras son ideales para su adaptación, aquí siempre circula el viento y la propagación de sus "micro semillas" y polinizadores es eficiente porque no hay barreras naturales solo el ser humano que las pisan cuando se salen del camino, el segundo mapa es interesante porque muestra toda la zona verde como reserva natural y espacio donde podemos toparnos con cualquier especie de orquídea a lo largo de todo el año.🗺️🌍
I can't go out into the field to study orchids without taking my identification book "Wild Orchids of Portugal" (Brites, 2016); this transect has everything I look for to be able to make comparisons between three types of terrain, in areas of low and high scrub, this is in theory the ideal area for the growth of any species of orchid in the mountains, then areas closer to the road where I also hope to see some orchids, and finally denser forest with large trees and tall shrub vegetation in this area it is almost impossible for an orchid to grow.🌍👩🏻🏫
No puedo salir al campo para estudiar Orquídeas sin llevarme mi libro de identificación "orquídeas salvajes de Portugal" (Brites, 2016); esta transecta tiene todo lo que busco para poder hacer comparaciones entre tres tipos de terrenos, en zonas de matorral bajo y alto, está en teoría es la zona ideal para el crecimiento de cualquier especie de Orquídea en la sierra, luego zonas más próximas a la carretera que también espero ver alguna orquídea, y por último bosque más tupido con grandes árboles y vegetación arbustiva alta en esta zona es casi imposible que una orquídea crezca. 🗺️🚩

In this area, a little further from the road "3-5 meters" almost reaching the forest, we found many specimens of Serapias, a genus of Orchid known for being monopodial and terrestrial, unique to the Mediterranean and Europe. Identifying them is quite difficult. I think it is the species: (Serapias lingua) does not grow in a specific area and, therefore, is our most abundant species in the sample, I saw more than 50 specimens.🌍🌺
En esta área, un poco más allá de la carretera "3-5 metros" casi llegando al bosque, conseguimos muchos ejemplares de Serapias, un género de Orquidea conocido por ser monopodiales y terrestres, únicas del mediterraneo y europa, Identificarlas es bastante difícil yo creo que se trata de la especie: (Serapias lingua) no crece en una zona en específico y, por tanto, es nuestra especie más abundante del muestreo, vi mas de 50 ejemplares.🌻💻
Orchids on the side of the road🌍🌻 / Orquideas al lado de la carretera💻🌺
The genus Ophrys are the famous bee orchids for their resemblance to the insect, and of course, it is a form of natural adaptation to attract the male of a species of bee and be able to pollinate it, it is believed that they secrete a substance that helps attract the male, I don't know if I've been unlucky, but I've never seen a bee approach a flower! This species was quite common on the side of the road less than 1 meter from the asphalt, the Ophrys scolopax and apifera are always the most common.🌺🌻
El genero Ophrys son las famosas orquídeas abejas por su parecido al insecto, y claro, es una forma de adaptación natural para atraer al macho de una especie de abeja y poder ser polinizada, se cree que segregan una sustancia que ayuda atraer el macho, ¡no sé si he tenido mala suerte, pero nunca vi una abeja acercarse a una flor! Esta especie fue bastante común al lado de la carretera a menos de 1 metro del asfalto, las Ophrys scolopax y apifera siempre son las más comunes.🌍🗺️💻

There are no orchids in areas like these! Normally, the reference tells us that orchids grow in areas with low vegetation or open areas, not in forests! They are small and can't be pollinated among so many bushes, much less carry out their biological processes.❌❌
No hay orquideas en zonas como estas! normalmente la referencia nos indica que las orquideas crecen en zonas con vegetacion baja o zonas despejadas no dentro de bosques! son pequenas no pueden ser polinizadas entre tantas matas y menos realizar sus procesos biologicos.❌❌
New discovery🌍🌻 / Nueva descubierta💻🌺
It is the first time that I photographed a specimen of (Orchis coriophora) the reference tells us that it is rare to see it blooming between the months of April to June, perhaps that is why I had never seen it before because we are barely in the middle of the flowering month, it prefers alkaline soils and with low vegetation and clear areas as where I got it it can grow up to 35cm, it is currently described as (Anacamptis coriophora), it is terrestrial with 15-25 flowers, it gives off a slight insect aroma.🌍🌻
Es primera vez que fotografió un ejemplar de (Orchis coriophora) la referencia nos dice que es poco común de verla florece entre los meses de abril a junio, quizá por ello nunca la había visto antes porque apenas estamos en pleno mes de floración, prefiere suelos alcalinos y con vegetación baja y zonas despejadas tal y cuál donde la conseguí puede crecer hasta 35cm, actualmente se le describe como (Anacamptis coriophora), es terrestre con 15-25 flores, desprende un aroma leve a insecto.🌺👩🏻🏫
