Hello everyone

Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all, I hope you had a lovely weekend, I welcome you all to a new week full of greater achievement and positivity, it is my pleasure to share with you all in this community @needleworkmonday the cutting and sewing process of this simple and stylish A-shape gown I made for my mother inlaw for Sunday service.
This gown was made with a tie and dye fabric which was gifted to my mother inlaw by her daughter, the fabric has been kept at home for a while now not until last week that the fabric was sent to me in order to make a simple style for her.
I know what my mother inlaw would like and appreciate, I have been making her outfit for awhile now, whenever I received any fabric from her, I'm to make a choice of style for her and whichever style I sew is always loved and appreciated by her, this is on of the fabric I have to choose a desired style for all she's concerned about is that the style should have two sides pocket and she's good to go.
This is what I came up with since it's just a simple gown, I cut an A-shape gown with two sides pocket and a floral lace patches in front just to add a little design to the front bodice and for the sleeves, I cut out a puffy sleeve with an elastic band at the hem of the sleeves to gather the hem together.

Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process below

The fabric was folded in 2 horizontally to get the full length of 56" plus 1" for the hemming allowance.
On it I marked the shoulder, neck, bust, waist, and hip circumference measurement divide by 4 plus 2" for seam and ease allowance and it was cut out.
The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back with 1.5" for the neck depth. I used the front bodice to cut out a lace patch in front from the shoulder down to the under bust measurement.
The lace was sewn to the front bodice and the rough edges were taped with a bais tape.
The front and back neckline were taped with a bais tape and were sewn together at the shoulder and the side seam.
I proceeded to the cutting of the sleeves from the remaining fabric. I cut out a basic sleeves with excess to be gathered with an elastic band on the hem
I inserted and elastic band in the loop I made on the sleeves and it was sewn to the armhole circumference.
From the remaining pieces of fabric, I cut out 4 pieces which were sewn together in two for the two sides pocket and it was finally sewn to both sides of the gown.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the simpl gown I made for my mother inlaw, it was delivered to her and she was able to wear it to church yesterday and she was so happy to have her outfit.
I hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of it.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post. Do have a great and lovely week.
