Hello dear friends of Hive and especially Wednesday Walk! I hope you are having a beautiful day! This time I come to tell you about a walk I did a few days ago here in Les Gets, this little town in France where I am.

It has been quite interesting, as little by little I have been encouraged to go a little further away, and then a little further, and so on, between the streets, the woods and the mountains.

Although there is a route to follow and the trail is fairly straightforward, there are several curves that go off the main street. So, in my first weeks here, I was always afraid of losing my way as I was getting farther away from the place where I am living, so I would go back, or take multiple photos for reference. Of signs or houses, so I would know which way to go back.

Now, although I still have this problem of not having absolute certainty of the way back, I've got the hang of it a little more.

Hola queridos amigos de Hive y en especial de Wednesday Walk! Espero que estén teniendo un día hermoso! En esta oportunidad vengo a contarles de un paseo que hice hace unos días aquí en Les Gets, este pueblito de Francia en el que me encuentro.

Ha sido bastante interesante, ya que de a poco me he ido animando a alejarme un poco más, y luego otro poco, y así, entre las calles, los bosques y las montañas.

Aunque hay una ruta a seguir y el sendero es bastante sencillos, hay varias curvas que se salen de la calle principal. Por ello, en mis primeras semanas aquí, siempre temía perder el camino al ir alejándome del lugar en donde estoy viviendo, por lo que volvía, o iba tomando múltiples fotos a modo de referencia. De carteles o casas, para saber por donde volver.

Ahora, aunque me sigue pasando esto de no tener certeza absoluta del camino al regresar, le he agarrado un poco más la mano.

On this walk you are seeing, I walked about 40 minutes away from my house.

The trail, as soon as I started, invited me to venture up a steep hill, which became steeper and steeper.

There were no pedestrian margins and to my left, the slope was evident, between green and houses that decorated the wall of the hill. Meanwhile, to my right rose part of the same formation, with colorful house fronts and gardens that continued with the shape of the mountain.

En esta caminata que están viendo, me alejé alrededor de 40 minutos caminando de mi casa.

El sendero, ni bien empecé su recorrido, me invitó a aventurarme a subir una pronunciada colina, que cada vez se hacía más y más marcada.

No había márgenes para los peatones y a mi izquierda , la ladera se hacía evidente, entre verde y viviendas que decoraban la pared del cerro. Mientras, a mi derecha se elevaba parte de la misma formación, con frentes de casas vistosos y jardines que continuaban con la figura de la montaña.

The snow was almost completely gone, and after having seen that place practically dressed in white, the green was beginning to appear and to contrast with the blue sky of France.

For a moment I thought the winter would be warm and that we would not have enough snow, but a few days later I understood the rhythm of Les Gets: snow, rain, green, clouds, snow, green rain and so on.

I took advantage of that day when the sun, although with a very cool atmosphere, warmed my face and my body.

I was surprised by the landscape countless times, while turning around a curve or while turning to get an idea of the road behind me, to recognize it on my return.

La nieve se había ido casi por completo, y después de haber visto aquel lugar prácticamente vestido de blanco, el verde empezaba a asomarse y a contrastar con el cielo azul de Francia.

Por un momento pensé que el invierno sería cálido y que no tendríamos suficientes nevadas, pero pocos días después comprendí el ritmo de Les Gets: nieve, lluvia, verde, nubes, nieve, lluvia verde y así.

Aproveché aquel día en que el sol, aunque con una tmósfera bien fresca, calentaba mi rostro y mi cuerpo.

Me sorprendí con el paisaje innumerables veces, mientras giraba por una curva o mientras volteaba para tener idea del camino a mis espaldas, para reconocerlo a mi regreso.

I crossed paths with a few hikers as I progressed in my adventure, and they all greeted me with a: bonjour ("Good morning"), with the complicity of the walker, of the person who generally alone, embarks on a hike at a sustained pace with the desire to move the body, to meditate on the dynamics of movement, to meet the mind and the spirit.

Me crucé con algunos caminantes a medida que avanzaba en mi aventura, y todos ellos me saludaron con un: bonjour (“Buenos días”), con la complicidad del caminante, de la persona que generalmente solitaria, se embarca en una caminata a ritmo sostenido con el deseo de mover el cuerpo, de meditar en la dinámica del movimiento, de encontrarse con la mente y con el espíritu.

I remember that day I was completely absorbed by different emotions that arose inside me and in my mind, dozens of thoughts occurred at the same moment.

Between happiness, despair, the thought of me living around here, memories of my home in Argentina, how much I miss my pets, the "what ifs", and some "what ifs".

Normal, when you decide to bring your history with you, far from leaving it behind, as at some point I thought it would be, today I understand that it is about making a present with everything you are. Something quite logical, but that I am just now understanding.

Recuerdo que aquel día estaba completamente absorbida por diferentes emociones que surgían en mi interior y en mi mente, decenas de pensamientos ocurrían en el mismo momento.

Entre la felicidad, la desesperación, el pensarme viviendo por aquí, los recuerdos de mi hogar en Argentina, cuánto extraño a mis mascotas, el “que pasaría sí”, y algunos “qué hubiera pasado si”.

Normal, cuando una decide traerse su historia con una misma, que lejos de dejar atrás, como en algún momento pensé que sería, hoy comprendo que se trata de hacer un presente con todo lo que una es. Algo bastante lógico, pero que recién ahora termino de entender.
