Splinter-Land Update – Burn Baby Burn That DEC!

2025-05-10T12:28:21
Yep… the tool’s expanded again 😄
This time, thanks to an awesome community request from @aironeous and @aironeous , we’ve added a brand new data view: estimated DEC burn from land resource trade hub!
When the idea came in, I immediately thought: "I already store Trade Hub data… this should be doable!" And sure enough, with a bit of effort and some extra chats in the land channel, it’s live!

How does it work?

The core idea is simple: Trade Hub data includes daily trade volume. Based on that, we estimate how much DEC is burned with each transaction. It's not pixel-perfect, but it’s good enough for trends and insights.
A couple of important disclaimers:
  • These are estimates, not exact numbers.
  • The data is pulled once a day, and trade volume is based on a rolling 24-hour window, so some timing mismatches can creep in.
  • If the site isn’t used one day (which is rare)— I usually keep a close eye on things 😅
That said… the charts are in and looking 🔥🔥

📊 New Charts

Where to find the new charts:

Chart 1: Daily DEC Burned per Pool + Cumulative Line

Shows how much is burned across all pools daily, with a total so far

Chart 2: 24-Hour Trade Volume per Resource Pool

See which resources are seeing the most trade activity/volume.

Chart 3: Total DEC Burned (Daily Sum)

See which resources have the highest DEC burning on a daily basis
That wraps up this small but sweet update.
💬 If you notice bugs, weird data, or just want to say hi, drop a message. I’ve spotted some backend hiccups myself, so a heads-up are always welcome.
Also… haven’t seen that “Oh No” screen in a while, so fingers crossed that the old resource issue is finally gone for ever 🤞

🚧 A Quick Note on the Project

This tool is a hobby project I work on in my spare time using Streamlit + Supabase (both on free tiers). So if the site crashes or looks weird—yep, that happens. Let me know, and I’ll try to fix it!
It’s open-source! If you’ve ever wondered how to build something like this in Python—or have ideas to improve the tool—check out the code here:

Feel free to open an issue, suggest an idea, or just shoot me a message!
I’ll be honest—progress may slow down for a bit. Real life is busy, and keeping up with everything is no joke. But I’ll keep checking in and updating when I can.
Thanks again for all the support. Hope you enjoy the new insights, and I’ll see you on the battlefield! 🧙‍♂️⚔️
