Adjusting My Land Strategy After Release 1.75

Now that release 1.75 of land is live in Splinterlands, it's time to adapt… and here’s what I did.
My main goal is to be somewhat self-sufficient. I'm not expecting to become a resource tycoon, but I do want to participate in land and produce some materials on a consistent basis.
Back when I selected my plots, I aimed for a mix of resources. So in theory, things should be doable — I just had to fine-tune my setup.
Let me walk you through how I did my calculations and what my harvesting plan looks like going forward. Hopefully, you’ll pick up a trick or two for your own setup. And if you’ve got any tips for me, I’m all ears!

Step 1: Assessing My Strengths and Weaknesses

I started by identifying where my strengths are — meaning where I have overproducing plots — and where the weak spots are. The goal was to shift things around so that I could at least cover the grain costs of my two resource plots and not fall behind.
The big question when I started was:
Can I generate enough grain??
It really comes down to Production Points (PP). So I had to make sure my production points would either result in positive grain flow or at least a break-even point.
Also, don’t forget the 12% transfer fee for sending resources between regions — that adds up fast if you're not careful.
Spoiler: I solved this by buying better PP units.

Step 2: Using the Land Production Screen

Not gonna lie — before 1.75, I never really looked at this screen. But now? It’s my new best friend.
It helped me clearly see where I had deficits and oversupply.
Region 9:
Region 51 (my main):
Region 81:
From this, I could tell how much I was producing per hour and what I needed to cover grain + resource costs. Wherever I saw negative numbers, I included the 12% transfer loss in my planning.

This is the end situation before i had a negative grain overall

Step 3: The Plan

Based on what I saw:
Region 51: I boosted grain production here by buying some solid PP units. This gave me enough grain to send to Region 9, even with the 12% loss.

Region 81: This one had a small grain shortage, so I fixed it just enough to go neutral. Now I can harvest all resources here and send them to Region 51 without worrying about grain.
Region 9: This region now receives grain from 51 (adjusted for the transfer fee), uses it to harvest its own resources, and sends any excess back to Region 51.
Once I harvest Region 51, I store the leftover supply in the (trade hub) liquidity pool, and slowly but surely, that’s growing too.

And that’s how I’m handling land after the 1.75 update. It’s definitely a puzzle, but once you figure out your production flows and get a handle on grain, the rest falls into place.
