Getting to know and touring the north park with a variety of options 📷 Malaga - Spain

One of the things I love most about this city is the variety of parks, both in the city centre and in each of the neighbourhoods. There are many green spaces that serve as recreational areas as well as the lungs of the city.

I remember when in 2019 a friend from Argentina came to visit me, she had visited several parts of Spain, the most famous, the most emblematic and decided to come for four days to visit me. When I asked her what she had liked most, she said Malaga for its green spaces and to think that she could not even visit the botanical garden.

This time I decided to visit the Parque del Norte, a very large green space that I had only seen when I was passing by on a bus. From there it seemed to me a huge and bright green place where I could see from afar many children playing.
Indeed, when I arrived at this park, but with the aim of getting to know it and visiting it in its entirety, the first thing I saw, on entering through one of its three entrances, was a lot of children playing. Within its vast extension there is a special section with a large slide that is especially attractive for children.
At the entrance to the park there is a sign with the winter and summer opening hours and the rules. And it says: The park belongs to everyone, respect it.

It has many paths, many of them under the thick foliage of the trees and underneath them places with a lot of earth and wood chips. In the distance the big slide where many children were playing. I didn't want to get too close and take pictures so that their faces wouldn't show. Respect above all.
I could see many parents and grandparents accompanying the children. How nice it is that quality time dedicated to them and that they play with toys and children's things and not with telephones. When I see scenes like that it reminds me of my times.
The whole park is surrounded by high fences that let you see outside. As I mentioned, it has three entrances, one from Martínez Maldonado street, another from the parallel one to the north and the other from Juanita Reina street.
The shaded area is very large and is right next to the playground.

But by moving away from the shaded area I could see that bright green I had seen so many times from the bus, and it had become even greener with the rains of the last few days. The rainwater cleans the air of any impurities and the plants are happy with it. It is the most delicious water I have ever tasted.

As I always say once I have walked a section of the promenade I like to turn around and see what is left behind and then continue.
The park is surrounded by buildings and offers a beautiful view from them.

Everywhere I walked I found children and parents with them, people sitting on a bench either reading a book, making video calls or just looking at the scenery.
Green is a colour that relaxes the eyes and calms the mind, it was a park that I walked through very slowly appreciating every step I took, enjoying it and recognising every part of it, as it was my first time visiting it.

In the centre of the park there are two structures that can be seen in the distance. One that generates a certain shadow on some benches and where in the centre there is a star that serves as an orientation.

And very close to this, there is a space with a concrete construction where I thought I saw birds drawn, underneath a water fountain.

Around the park and all around it there are green spaces with bushes, plants, flowers and trees, the perfect place for a picnic, for drinking mate, I always find all the places perfect for that.
An intense green, crossed by terracotta-coloured paths or softer coloured earth. Green is hope and health.

I also saw a lot of people walking their dogs, some small and some big, but all on a leash as they should be. There was a lot of order, cleanliness, maintenance and respect for the park. I love that.

On my route, on my right I could see a large area under trees, where there was a lot of gym equipment. I always say that here it is not necessary to pay for a gymnasium, there is this type of equipment in all the parks and although I love walking as a sport and not sitting on one of these machines, if I did it, it would be outdoors, not enclosed.

I love that so much space is given over to recreation, outdoor living, exercise, sociability and pet walking and most importantly, space for children and their development with creativity and healthy play, away from screens. I thought about all this as I walked.

Near the end of my tour, exploration and reconnaissance of the park I saw a ramp and wondered what the park would look like from there. You know I love exploring. So I walked out of the park, turned around, walked up the ramp and the park looked beautiful.

The walk took place while there were lots of clouds and the combination with the palm trees was magical, although there were intervals of sunshine. It reminded me of another park I have visited, but I will come back to bring it here, a park I visited with my aunt and uncle. That's why I bring a park today, it's a special day. This is how I remember my aunt today, one year after her departure.
Thank you all very much for joining me today. I send you a big greeting. See you soon.
Amonet.
