Today, we celebrated Mother's Day in a very special way with friends from the library and my dear friends from Faramujer. It was a truly enjoyable morning, full of affection, smiles and small details that made this Wednesday very special for our group. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere, among books and friends, felt warm and cozy, decorated with care and with that touch of affection that can only be achieved when everything is done with love.
We shared fresh fruits, homemade bread, hot coffee and aromatic herbs. Everything was prepared with dedication to entertain us. The most beautiful thing was to see how each gesture, no matter how simple it was, spoke of gratitude and recognition towards the women who, with dedication, day by day we accompany, take care of and build from different places.
Hoy, celebramos el Día de las Madres de una manera muy especial junto a los amigos de la biblioteca y mis queridas amigas de Faramujer. Fue una mañana verdaderamente amena, llena de afecto, sonrisas y pequeños detalles que hicieron muy especial este miércoles en nuestro grupo. Desde que llegamos, el ambiente, entre libros y amigas, se sentía cálido y acogedor, decorado con esmero y con ese toque de cariño que solo se logra cuando se hace todo con amor.
Compartimos frutas frescas, pancitos caseros, cafecito caliente y aromáticas. Todo preparado con dedicación para agasajarnos. Lo más bonito fue ver cómo cada gesto, por más sencillo que fuera, hablaba de gratitud y reconocimiento hacia las mujeres que, con entrega, día a día acompañamos, cuidamos y construimos desde diferentes lugares.
There was soft music in the background, laughter and sincere hugs. We all shared stories, anecdotes and emotions that connected us even more. We read poems from different authors, and our own as well. I read some that I made to my mother and in every look I found containment and much affection. We were also surprised with some handmade gifts made by the friends of the jewelry group.
For me it was a morning to thank and recognize the strength of this circle of women with whom I share so many things: volunteer work, learning, affection and common projects. I was deeply happy to have been part of this celebration.
Celebrating Mother's Day in this way was, without a doubt, a gift to my heart because today I am celebrating three years since I arrived in this country, and Bogota welcomed me with a beautiful and fresh sunny afternoon like today.
So I celebrated, among friends and affection, a special day in the library that has been a refuge in this new stage of my life.
Hubo música suave de fondo, risas y abrazos sinceros. Entre todas compartimos historias, anécdotas y emociones que nos conectaron aún más. Leímos poemas de diferentes autores, y propios también. Yo leí unos que le hice a mi madre y en cada mirada encontré contención y mucho cariño. También nos sorprendieron con unos detallitos hechos a mano por las amigas del grupo de bisutería.
Para mí fue una mañana para agradecer y reconocer la fuerza de este círculo de mujeres con el que comparto tantas cosas: trabajo voluntario, aprendizajes, afectos y proyectos comunes. Me sentí profundamente feliz de haber sido parte de esta celebración.
Celebrar el Día de las Madres de esta manera fue, sin duda, un regalo para mi corazón porque justamente, hoy, estoy cumpliendo tres años que llegué a este país, y Bogotá me recibió con una hermosa y fresca tarde de sol como la de hoy.
Así celebré, entre amigos y cariño, un día especial en la biblioteca que ha sido un refugio en esta nueva etapa de mi vida.
