Cada 15 de mayo se celebra el día internacional de la familia,una fecha que debido a su importancia era imposible pasar por alto en la institución de educación especial donde laboro. Con anticipación nos reunimos un equipo de trabajo para plantearnos como podríamos organizarnos de manera que los padres y representantes se pudieran integrar; luego de varias propuestas decidimos que buscar otro espacio para hacer actividades recreativas sería lo mejor, por lo que elegimos un parque que aparte de estar ubicado céntrico cuenta con un terreno amplio para poder compartir un grupo grande de personas.
Every May 15 is celebrated the International Day of the Family, a date that due to its importance was impossible to overlook in the special education institution where I work. In advance we met as a team to consider how we could organize ourselves so that parents and representatives could be integrated; after several proposals we decided that finding another space for recreational activities would be the best, so we chose a park that besides being centrally located has a large area to share a large group of people.
We made the call for a pertinent permission in their work. The reception to the call was satisfactory, so at 8:00 am we already had a good number of people to start with the scheduled activities, we started with the singing of the National Anthem and the State, then some teachers gave a speech about the concept of family to organize each parent with their children and start making some drawings about their nuclear family.
Once we were able to talk, laugh and relax a little, the physical education teacher encouraged us all with some group dynamics, the children played various recreational games where they could get prizes and the representatives were not far behind with the gymkhanas that were prepared for them. What a pleasure it was to witness so many happy faces and to see that the integration of the family with the institution is bearing fruit, it is definitely without their support our work would not be complete, so I am infinitely grateful for the commitment and love they devote to the education of their treasures.
The family establishes the first bonds of affection, learns the rules of coexistence, values and develops the personality. At present and due to the same economic situation of the country we observe that the nuclear family is not always formed by the mother and father, there are cases in which they are single parent or grandparents who are assuming this responsibility so that a family member could emigrate in search of a better opportunity, yet how admirable that either by a blood tie or adoption there are people with such a huge heart to take on the responsibility of raising a child and especially if he has a special condition. On this day I want to congratulate all families, their role as a basis in society is and will always be relevant.
