Hello everyone, I hope you are doing fine and that You enjoy my art in this entry for the splinterlands art contest.
I really liked this letter because it conveys warmth and the color palette is very bright. Without a doubt, it is a very well-designed letter. I start by making the initial sketch to know the dimensions of the design I am going to create.
Once I know where each element will be located, I begin to color this technique, in classes they call it color sketch, since you start painting with colors as if you were portraying in graphite, and marking the areas where light and shadows come in, thus we will begin to give shape to the drawing.
Here I'm detailing what his fur is, taking into account that he holds or levitates a flame in his hands, the light will be stronger in the central areas, that includes his face, which leaves us with areas of lighter fur than others.
We can observe the way I used the initial sketch to create what would be the color sketch technique; the colors I use in this art are mostly warm colors.
We begin to shape the flame that is held in the center and in this part it was much easier for me because with the same white of the paper I left the illuminated areas and also added some flames as if they were levitating around or the trail of this same flame.
Moving on to the torso and hands, notice the detail of the fur I added to the hands to give it that semi-realistic touch without sacrificing the character's unique style. Here I wondered, what would it look like if I did it in hyperrealism? What species of primate is it?
This style of drawing is an experiment like most of my posts, where I use everything I learned in my art classes and this one in particular doesn't have dark outlines, I could have placed them, but it would break with what the technique is.
Finally, we colored the eyes, nostrils, and mouth. A beige background was also added to give it a touch of warmth and a very innocent expression, as you can see in the original artwork.
