I begin to apply the color for the background. Most of my works have a background and I always try to give them one so that the drawing doesn't look so flat. I decided to make the background orange because I imagined the floor to be orange and also because orange is the complementary color on the color wheel.
I intensify the shadow tones, since the chiaroscuro technique tells me it has a side shadow, and to create the shadow, I intensified the orange and applied purple on top.
And here is the result. I found this experience fun, even though I don't know how to draw insects or animals, it was truly interesting.
In this exploration of reinterpreting reality, I realized that artists, including myself, almost always focus on getting the work right rather than enjoying the process.
That way, when you look at the result, you'll realize you enjoyed the experience, which is what matters when you're having fun, not the outcome.
It's also important to step out of your comfort zone from time to time and venture into uncharted territory to make the experience fresh and rewarding, enjoying the process. Thank you for joining me in this endeavor. Greetings and blessings.
