Hello Needle workers. Hope you're having a good week already?
It's a pleasure to be here again... So I promised to share something amazing and here it is.
This is a hoodie and joggers made by me.
I'm too excited about this particular project because I got a lot of order after making it.
Streetwears are very versatile and can be worn for different occasion. To the airport, for sport activities, during winter/harmattan.
The day I went for fabric sourcing, was the day my school took us on Market survey. They took us to a market where we can get the fabrics to make hoodie and joggers at a very affordable price and then the color combination became another thing.
One thing to get right after fabric sourcing is learning how to match colors to make something awesome. Yes, I think I did a good job with the color combination.
The beautiful thing about this project is the fabrics and other items used in achieving this outfit.
I started off by drafting a basic bodice without adding any shape to it. It's a straight cut like when we are about to make a shirt.
Since this hoodie has an asymmetric line on the front pattern alone, I divided the upper bodice into two using my curve ruler.
The joggers also has a style line which I created as well.
I proceeded to the pocket of the hoodie, which I cut using 8 inches width and 5 inches in depth.
I joined the shoulder, sides and pocket together as seen in my picture.
As for the pocket, I made a cut using my joggers pattern and created a pocket bag for the joggers. After cutting it out, I joined the pocket bag to the pocket and joined them on each side of the joggers.
I also joined the crotch together and at this point the trouser was ready.
The next thing I did was to cut out the hoodie itself(cap).
To achieve this, I measured the round neckline of the upper bodice and then made a curve around it on the cap and measured 17 inches in depth.
I used my soldering iron to make a hole on the hoodie to attach my eyelet to make it look more professional.
I also did this on the elastic band of the joggers.
I made an elastic band using an elastic fabric I bought at the market. To achieve this, I measured the roundness of the sleeves aand added a 0.5 allowance which was used to join the sides of the band.
This is the result after joining the band to the sleeves.
Now let's take a look at this beauty. A few up close pictures for your pleasure.
Tell me what you love most about this outfit. I love the color combination the most hehe. Over to you!
