Hello Needleworkers..

Cheers to a new week, a week of lots of creativity and productivity.

Today I want to share with you a dress I made for Tina, my first time client via referral.

Tina got to know about me through my loyal client Chichi who rocked a dress made by me for her graduation.

According to Tina that dress stole her attention and she couldn't help but ask her friend who made the gorgeous dress for her.

This why I try my best to give out quality to anyone who patronizes me, because my handiwork speaks for or against me. Well, it has always spoken "exceptional" And I have no intention to reduce the quality of my outfits.

So Tina wanted a yellow laced dress for her sister's traditional wedding which is slated on the 23rd of November, which is next week Saturday.

She brought in the fabric and left it with me to create a masterpiece.

This fabric is very stressful to work with because it's a tulle with so many stones and beads, which breaks my sewing needles at intervals.

I literally used a pack of needle on this dress because one can never be too careful.

The dress she wanted was a fitted knee length dress and an off shoulder dress with dramatic sleeves.

I used a very thick lycra for the sleeve because of the puffiness. To manage the fabric, I didn't cut it in form of a flare, I made a straight cut and added elastics at 3 inches difference.

The bodice was cut with her bust and hip measurement, since it had a half cut to it.

I used a yellow bridal satin as the lining for the tulle lace and the back had zippers.

I ensured to place the zip gently and secured a stitch on it as seen here.

I also made a belt from the remnants of the bridal satin fabrics so that she could style it with a belt if she wanted and now let's see the outcome of this dress.

Here's what the dress look like. The off shoulder and sleeve are my favorite parts of this dress although it took sweat and blood to achieve because of the fragility of the tulle lace fabric.

The puffy sleeve

One thing I hate about this fabric is, once you make a mistake on your stitch, you have to be extremely careful loosening it else the whole fabric.

Aside that, it's a very elegant fabric that brings speaks class and style.

So here's Tina dress ready for Saturday. I would call her later to inform her the dress is ready. What do you think about this dress?
