Life Sapper is a low mana Magic monster that can hold it's own if it is given the chance to get a few attacks in to build it's hitpoints up. A great option in low mana games.

The Strategy

It was a Modern, Gold League, 36 Mana battle with Silenced Summoners and Odd Ones Out. Odd mana value monsters really restrict the gameplay and team compositions. Paired with silenced summoners meant there will be a strong emphasis on good monster choices for the battle.

Position Card Level Reason
Summoner Thaddius Brood 4 Reduction in Magic Damage and HP for the entire enemy team.
Position 1 Crypt Beetle 5 A cheap tank option with shield to tank as many hits as possible.
Position 2 Djinn Muirat 2 A very strong card with decent damage, armour and high hitpoints. A great damage dealer/tank combo
Position 3 Life Sapper 4 Our star of the week. Low mana and low health but decent damage with life leech.
Position 4 Scavo Hireling 5 Strong support with repair and a bit of a damage sink for the backline.
Position 5 Dhampir Stalker 4 High Damage and hitpoints with decent speed. A great backline damage dealer.
Position 6 Lira the Dark 2 High speed and decent damage with opportunity to pick off the lower health monsters.

The Result

Round 1 kicked off with our Lira the Dark taking out the opposing Fire Elemental. The enemy Serpentine Spy rebutted by taking out our focus for the week, Life Sapper, before they had a chance to strike. Our Crypt Beetle also succumb to the Djinn Apprentice. Some strong blows were traded but there were no more casualties in Round 1.

Round 2 started with our Lira the Dark enacting revenge on Serpentine Spy. Both sides continued to endure strike after strike.

Round 3 saw the Dhampir Stalker finish off the enemy tank, Living Lava.

Then thanks to the Scavo Hireling, we were able to pick off the remaining enemy one at the time without losing anyone else.
