Our essence

Desde hace un tiempo me ha gustado mucho los retratos con un toque de surrealismo y para esta ocasión tenia un concepto muy bonito que plasmar, decidí hacerlo sin dudar, y así fue como en un par de días cree “Our essence” una obra que combina al ser humano con la naturaleza y que incluso nos compara con ella, realmente me encanto hacer este dibujo, me quede todo un día completo sentada agregando detalles para que se viese precioso cada parte de este rostro, cada rama, creo que hace mucho tiempo que no había disfrutado tanto dibujar algo.

For some time now I have really liked portraits with a touch of surrealism and for this occasion I had a very nice concept to capture, I decided to do it without hesitation, and that's how in a couple of days I created "Our essence" a work that combines the human being with nature and that even compares us with it, I really loved doing this drawing, I sat for a full day adding details so that each part of this face, each branch, would look beautiful, I think it has been a long time since I hadn't enjoyed drawing something so much.

Comencé con el boceto, desde el principio ya tenia clara la idea, fui modificando el boceto hasta tener una cara un poco mas simétrica y comenzar a pintar, agregue los colores base sin mucho detalle, poco a poco fui dando mas tonalidades en cada parte del rostro, acercándome mas a el y estudiando donde iría cada tono medio, claro y oscuro.

I started with the sketch, from the beginning I already had a clear idea, I was modifying the sketch until I had a slightly more symmetrical face and start painting, I added the base colors without much detail, little by little I was giving more shades in each part of the face, getting closer to him and studying where each medium, light and dark tone would go.

El fondo simplemente son algunos tonos azules y marrones desaturados, sin mucho detalle, actualmente me gusta trabajar así ya que el fondo realmente en mi estilo de dibujo no es tan importante, la idea es llamar la atención con un retrato con mucho detalles y bien pintado, continue pintando y cada vez dando mas detalles, en este caso variando el tamaño del pincel y la opacidad donde requiera detalles mas finos y fuertes, este proceso fue de muchas horas un día completo para terminar esta parte 1 y 2 del proceso.

The background is simply some desaturated blue and brown tones, without much detail, currently I like to work like this since the background is really not that important in my drawing style, the idea is to attract attention with a portrait with a lot of details and well painted , continue painting and each time giving more details, in this case varying the size of the brush and the opacity where finer and stronger details are required, this process took many hours a full day to finish this part 1 and 2 of the process.

Este detalle era algo que no estaba incluido en mi idea principal, pero me pareció interesante pintar unas gotas de sangre de donde se supone que saldrán unas ramas, para el cabello, use el mismo pincel difuso que he usado en toda la ilustración y di toques finales de luz con un pincel especial de “cabello” no me gusta mucho usar este pincel para todo el pelo ya que a veces se ve muy artificial, por eso solo lo uso para algunos detalles como luz o sombras, pinte las ramas guiándome de muchas imágenes de Google de ramas, ya que aunque no lo crean los arboles y ramas siempre han sido algo difícil de entender para dibujar jajaja pero guiándome pude darle la forma que quería, igualmente hice con las raíces, pinte pequeñas hojas que están en las ramas y muchas hojas volando alrededor, di algunos ajustes de color y finalmente aplique mucha luz en ciertas partes de la cara, me encanta iluminar el rostro.

This detail was something that was not included in my main idea, but I found it interesting to paint a few drops of blood from where some branches are supposed to come out, for the hair, I used the same diffuse brush that I have used in the whole illustration and dabbed light ends with a special “hair” brush I don't really like to use this brush for all the hair since sometimes it looks very artificial, that's why I only use it for some details such as light or shadows, paint the branches guiding me in many Google images of branches, because even if you don't believe it, trees and branches have always been something difficult to understand to draw hahaha but guiding me I was able to give it the shape I wanted, I also did with the roots, paint small leaves that are on the branches and a lot of leaves flying around, I did some color adjustments and finally I put a lot of light on certain parts of the face, I love to brighten the face.

Este dibujo lo hice con muchísimo amor, era mi primer obra para subir en makersplaceco y quería entrar a lo grande, así que me esforcé muchísimo porque quedara perfecto, con ese toque de surrealismo que a la vez toca el realismo en el rostro, espero que les haya gustado esta obra, tengo muchas mas en las que he trabajado estos últimos días, próximamente les mostrare.

I made this drawing with a lot of love, it was my first work to upload on makersplaceco and I wanted to go big, so I tried very hard to make it perfect, with that touch of surrealism that at the same time touches realism on the face, I hope that you liked this work, I have many more that I have worked on these last days, soon I will show you.
