Winklevoss backed GEMINI, just started an Ether auction. This will help with price discovery (which is a method for accurate pricing of commodities and securities).
This IS one more step that indicates market needs a global exchange since these method will probably be more accurate than the different prices on different exchanges for ETH, which at the moment opens a window for arbitrage.
This will bring a official "spot price" and would also bring more liquidity to the market.
Certainly it will be very interesting to see how all plays out.
Omni might be overlooked but first ICO´s where conducted using the protocol (yes even before ethereum existed)
And even theter (the cryptoUSdollar) was developed via the omni layer and protocol....Matercoin
So we have to keep paying attention to the ecosystem.
