The term Chima meant many things back home, from the energy all life creates and utilises, to the study and practice, to the practitioner themselves.
All living beings produce Chima, plants, animals, planets, stars. My people even observed the same of black holes, though are study of such was almost as limited as humanity's. If you want a translation, the closest I have seen on Earth would be mana. Prana, Chi and Chakra also work. It does feel like some depth is missing, however. The Force from Star Wars actually gets closer.
Through atonement, meditation and practice one can observe what we referred to as the "flows". Waves of energy flowing through the universe. You can see them, touch them, hear them or smell them, everything is made of waves though. When waves interact they entangle, once entangled waves cannot be separated. It is this concept that is, and was, responsible for FTL communications, both back home and on Earth.
We travelled through a realm we called Chima Space. As far as we could tell, an alternate dimension or universe filled to the brim with Chima, but no discernible matter. That was the extent of our knowledge on the realm. It wasn't actually all that fast on the inter-stellar scale. It made up for this however, with near instant inter-galactic jumps. Again, we had no idea how it worked.
I said in a previous post, that the physical is meaningless, or words to those effect. Probably not the best way of putting it. Energy can be compressed, if compressed far enough it forms matter. The two are interchangeable, thus take matter apart and you will be left with energy.
