Yeah, it finally happened. If you don't count when I played Rocket Racing through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

And yes, I played it through that cloud gaming service again as an invite from a friend [the same I played Rocket Racing with] - it easily makes it both convenient to play with him, while being invited is the sole reason I'd be playing Fortnite in the first place. I know there's a handful of things to take at once in that thumbnail, such as what I'm riding on and who are we fighting instead of normal players, but all things that will get answers later. Right, Goku?

It was a bit more interesting than I expected, but the classic swing of more experienced online players appearing out of nowhere kicked in faster than I thought as well - and I'll tell you how in a simple set of events.

And yes, you're gonna see my tag team partner tag along in most of these screenshots in different characters.

Its funny that there's an official game where you can play as Goku, Deku, Hatsune Miku, Sabrina Carpenter, Sub-Zero, or anyone else you know that has been in a collab (and you've been lucky to pick up) running around with guns, don't you think?

See, because we played on this recent Star Wars season and in the No Building mode, all weapons are Star Wars blasters - meaning that they have infinite ammo [but also an overheating bar like the plasma pistols in Halo].

And one of the first things I found on my first time playing was a SNIPER RIFLE.

There was something funny about trying to aim a sniper rifle sight with input lag and having one with no end to the bullets in the first place...but also something quite satisfying when I actually popped some heads with it.

Felt like the journey through Resident Evil 6 [a story for another day - but know that I finished all campaigns with my brother a few days ago] with painstakingly sniping zombies constantly to cover for my partner was paying off for something.

But in any case, most of the first match was spent by walking around buildings or being given a ride by my friend around the world if we weren't sniping players out of the lobby, until my buddy had me follow to a spot where a lightsaber appears, talking with Darth Maul to learn about his techniques and then appearing out of a portal with the real deal.

It was kinda cool to have this on my hands when it boosts mobility and seems decent for melee fighting...but remember that this is a game where everyone likely has a gun - although the saber has the ability to deflect a few bullets if you can react in time to approach before more they get you. I just didn't really get to test the saber in combat though, but more so as a tool to run faster.

But the only thing that's faster than running with the saber is riding a car - which we did plenty of times. If you want to get even more big brained than that though, you can also find...a TIE Fighter.

That is how we ended up on those pink clouds and fighting a boss that, when defeated, drops a legendary weapon class for your efforts. Once we get down and run around more chasing for the last survivors, we eventually got the win, which had me feeling at first that I had been missing out on something cooler than I thought.

Then I immediately realized.

It may have been too easy.

It was my first session after all, and while I didn't read the names before, now that I read them while inspecting the footage, those are absolutely some generic enough nicknames that I could be being slapped to bots. But in any case I say to play again because the hunting session had me a bit pumped up to go for more headshots again [classic online game psychology - give a new player a freebie win and they'll want to play again 🤠]

The second match also fared well, although I didn't get as much mileage out of fighting other players, but we were once again taking advantage from high areas - until I decided to go down a hill where I thought the last player was while the circle was shrinking...only to notice that it was going to shrink through the place where I was, with the right direction being blocked by the hill where I went down from.

And then we win.

I didn't see a chat message about what happened with the last player, so I'm not sure if it had been a bot or not, but as my friend said he did NOT kill that player, we assume that the poor sap got eaten by the storm - somehow leaving us two as the last standing players.

If you think that it was going good so far, then wait until I tell you about what happened after I restated my suspicions about not getting sniped ourselves at any point on these first two matches...

As I mentioned earlier, I had told my friend that the first match felt...suspiciously issue-free. We ambushed players but we never got ambushed, and as I mentioned at the end of the second match, the remaining player got eaten by the storm completely off-camera.

But the third match? Hoo boy, it all started with a slip of hubris for everything to go downhill.

After falling down at the map and several minutes of going here and there, my buddy did a stop to check somewhere, but I decided to go check inside a building for loot instead as I thought he wouldn't go too far away.

He got ambushed by two players and I was too late to arrive and fight back. The culprits ran away in a red car, and I was left running for his card as he told me I could revive him on a machine...that would be fairly loud and time costly.

I went there and was about to get him revived...only to get ambushed AGAIN by those two fools in the red car, getting killed by said car being THROWN to my face.

So that's a taste of running into actual experienced players...and quite the sprinkle of bad luck, huh? 💀

Our fourth match had us lasting a bit longer than before, having another buddy tag along for a 3 player team and spending around 15 minutes alive until we arrived into a high snow mountain where my teammates started getting shot out of nowhere and likely even ambushed as both fell, and as I tried to run away-

I think the biggest mistake may have been trying to run without looking behind, but if THIS player was somehow close enough to catch me like that, then may not have been alone to jump my teammates before flicking me with the Imaginary Technique: Average Jedi Blaster to the head.

Next match, same team, and before it started there was this guy with a Fry from Futurama skin and couldn't help but start dancing with him.

So what happened is that my buddies saw someone hacking the train [whatever that means] and tried to take a ride up there...only to find a single player that ended up taking both of them down. I wasn't down because I wasn't with them but I ran there ASAP to revive them.

...And as I finished reviving the other player, not only the culprit threw a grenade and knocked them down AGAIN, but also showed up to kill me as well and take all what we had.

So that was a single player who had found a MYTHICAL class weapon, who would have thought.

We had another buddy join us, now having a four player squad ready and steady. This also meant that I could get this hilarious screenshot that sums up the energy of this ensemble cast.

So as we land in this area- WHAT THE

...Okay, NEXT time we'll get them. Kind of unlucky to happen to land on a place where a whole crew somehow pulled up with an entire spaceship to attack.

This time, we land on a snow area, get some loot, and I try to catch up with my teammates most of the time because I landed a bit away from them for some reason, but we're doing well so far as we approach the city- NOT AGAIN

Well, I guess I kind of set myself up with the prediction of thinking that I wasn't getting jumped too often by snipers like we did on the first rounds, because it seems that most of the times where we got tackled down was by a pack of players or from snipers, although its crazy that we got jumped by a crew on a fancy ship twice in a row.

By that point I had ran out of fuel, so I ended up calling it for the night, not quite bored out of the experience...but also not quite satisfied when we went from two matches very likely if not clearly with bots [therefore the easy wins] to surviving most times into the Top 25 only to get ambushed to death by two or more random players that happened to find us with our backs turned.

My friend certainly had some truth when he was telling me that Fornite was a camper's game - which is the whole reason why he recommended to go for high grounds to do that ourselves. But oh well, at least it was a tad more enjoyable than trying to play this solo.

I don't know. I guess that the more memorable things between thinking I was cracked at sniper shots and getting folded out of nowhere by random players, would be the obvious elephant in the room of characters from multiple franchises pulling up [I think I even headshot a player with Omniman's skin once] and doing goofy dances.

But hey, I guess I can finally scratch this one game off the list of stuff to try, although if I'm feeling like another round when my friend summons me again for a session, I'll probably give it another go and try to survive for a legitimate victory royale.

Or I could end up playing Resident Evil. Stories for another day, anyways.

Verás, como jugamos en esta reciente temporada de Star Wars y en el modo Sin Construir, todas las armas son blasters de Star Wars - lo que significa que tienen munición infinita [pero también una barra de sobrecalentamiento como las pistolas de plasma en Halo].

Y una de las primeras cosas que encontré la primera vez que jugué fue un RIFLE SNIPER.

Había algo divertido en intentar apuntar con la mira de un rifle de francotirador con input lag y tener uno sin fin de balas en primer lugar... pero también algo bastante satisfactorio cuando realmente reventé algunas cabezas con él.

Aunque en realidad no llegué a probar el sable en combate, sino más bien como herramienta para correr más rápido.

Pero lo único que es más rápido que correr con el sable es ir en coche, cosa que hicimos muchas veces. Pero si quieres ir aún más de cabeza, también puedes encontrar... un TIE Fighter.

Y entonces ganamos.

No vi ningún mensaje en el chat sobre lo que había pasado con el último jugador, así que no estoy seguro de si había sido un bot o no, pero como mi amigo dijo que NO había matado a ese jugador, suponemos que al pobre inocente se lo comió la tormenta, dejándonos a nosotros dos como los últimos jugadores en pie.

Si pensáis que todo iba bien hasta ahora, esperad a que os cuente lo que pasó después de reafirmar mis sospechas de no haber sido snippeados nosotros mismos en ningún momento de estas dos primeras partidas...

Como mencioné antes, le había dicho a mi amigo que la primera partida se sintió... sospechosamente libre de problemas. Emboscamos a jugadores pero nunca nos emboscaron, y como mencioné al final de la segunda partida, el jugador que quedaba fue devorado por la tormenta completamente fuera de cámara.

¿Pero la tercera partida? Hoo chico, todo empezó con un desliz de arrogancia para que todo fuera cuesta abajo.

Después de caer en el mapa y varios minutos de ir de aquí para allá, mi colega hizo una parada para comprobar algún sitio, pero yo decidí ir a comprobar dentro de un edificio en busca de botín en su lugar, ya que pensé que no se alejaría demasiado.

Lo emboscaron dos jugadores y yo llegué demasiado tarde para llegar y contraatacar. Los culpables huyeron en un coche rojo, y yo me quedé corriendo a por su tarjeta mientras me decía que podía reanimarlo en una máquina... eso sería bastante ruidoso y costaría tiempo.

Fui allí y estaba a punto de revivirlo...solo para ser emboscado OTRA VEZ por esos dos tontos en el coche rojo, siendo asesinado por dicho coche siendo LANZADO a mi cara.**

Nuestra cuarta partida nos hizo durar un poco más que antes, teniendo a otro compañero en un equipo de 3 jugadores y pasando unos 15 minutos vivos hasta que llegamos a una alta montaña nevada donde mis compañeros empezaron a recibir disparos de la nada y probablemente incluso emboscadas mientras ambos caían, y mientras yo intentaba huir...
