I met up with this old man for some could say 'disabled'. But I would like to title him rather 'determined'. Despite his amputated right leg, he is doing all his day today work without complaining or hating the fate of his life.
No matter whats the part of the world is, everywhere needs more people like that. People who are determined and not giving up. 💙 #respect
I have seen so many beggars asking for help in the streets of Sri Lanka. They are everywhere, from streets to all kind of public transportation that this country has, especially the trains.
Why many beggars here in Sri Lanka ?
Majority of the people here are Buddhists, who believe that helping the poor, helpless and disabled is a good virtue, which agrees their teachings. According to my travel guide, that's the main reason why people people don't wanna demote a culture like that. But the real problem here is not helping the one another, but to what extent has begging become a business which seems so lucrative according my guide's view. At the slightest moment when people feel helpless, they make the decision to be a one, cause why not given that you can make a lot from it.Anyway, in my opinion, if a country wanna succeed, it must encourage people who would take care of themselves and don't wanna spend a parasitic life. Its so sad how peoples' believes have ruined this beautiful island.
Those are my thoughts today.
