I have a habit and it's when I get up tending to my bed.
I remember once I slept, outside my home , in Puerto Rico more precisely, in a hotel room that we shared four people.
One of my friends saw that I was going to make my bed and told me: "don't do that, because the hotel staff will take care of it.
I already have that as a way of being, and it is not easy for me to stop doing it.
The daytime, I didn't have it, I don't like it, I had the habit of going out, I like it more.
Since I know myself I hate sleeping in the afternoons, I don't like the word "siesta" and I don't have the word "rest" in my repertoire either. I'm bored of that, of daytime sleeping.
There are people who usually have lunch and retire to take a nap, I don't, I don't get sleepy.
I usually have lunch and go for a walk, to avoid sitting down or going to bed.
I run away from that, from eating and sleeping.
In the places where I worked, people used to eat and sleep for 15 minutes.
I would go for a walk, walk around and when I came back, the air conditioning was off, the lights were off and there was a bad smell. That was their habit.
Nowadays, since I'm at home every day, after breakfast I go to a park nearby to exercise, I go around 11 in the morning.
It's already a habit, on Sundays they don't open the park in the morning, so I don't go that day.
My son is used to doing that, he eats and sleeps, it must be because of his autism that he has had that memory since he was a child.
I do have the habit of drinking water with lemon and baking soda on an empty stomach, I have been doing that for ten years. I got used to it.
It is not an addiction, but a healthy habit.
There is a habit that I have had for more than four decades, and that is not to eat between meals. Whatever I have to eat, I reserve it for when I'm having lunch or dinner.
That habit helps me to keep the extra pounds off.
I have another habit and that is not to read or listen to the news.
It has also been more than four decades since I did that.
There are people who are in the habit of reading news of events and then grabbing that as a topic of conversation, well my habit is to run away when they start with that and if it is with me directly, I tell them that I do not like to talk about it. Because it's very sad and I already have enough to deal with. I have eyes to see nice things and ears to hear nice things.
And on TV there are also musical and comic programs.
I make sacred codes as soon as I wake up in the morning and when I go to sleep at night.
The habit of meditation, is a habit that is important to take.
Meditation is free and we can all do it daily, the only thing we have to do is to want to do it to begin to see and feel the changes in our lives.
This would be a very beneficial habit, it rejuvenates, avoids thinking, what we do with that is creating bad results that we do not want.
Meditation helps us to know ourselves. Another benefit is to keep boredom away.
Meditation is healthy, healing and necessary.
I thought I didn't have habits but I do.
