Hello everybody! Today I will continue my story about our family trip to Italy, which took place back in 2013. Bordighera is an amazing place. Claude Monet himself visited here, and many artists from different eras drew inspiration. There are excellent pebble beaches and kind people here. And then there are the real narrow, shady streets, of which there are a lot in Italy, but which are always extremely interesting to explore.
Today I will tell you a little about the photos that I will regularly post in my publications about Bordighera. They are a bit unusual, partly very personal. That's because I made them for myself, mostly they are urban and natural views with the prospect that later I could use them in my drawings and paintings.
Hello to all travel lovers! Today I would like to start a long series of publications on the topic of my long-standing trip to Italy, to the small town of Bordighera. This beautiful and green resort is located near the world famous Sanremo. My wife and daughter and I went there at the invitation of my mother-in-law and her Italian friend Franco.
While I'm busy with household chores on vacation, my wife Irina is busy with business. And if, looking at these photos of her, you decide to think that she is vacationing at a resort, then you will be mistaken. After all, Irina is a yoga instructor, and she takes groups of people practicing hatha yoga to different countries.
I don't do portraits very often, especially oil portraits. But not so long ago I had such an order. And since the provided photo was of a very ordinary woman, with an ordinary appearance, who squints from the bright sun, I decided that the most correct thing to do in this situation would be to do everything with maximum precision.
Today I have prepared a small selection of my works made with colored pencils. There are paintings made on different paper - white, gray, and even translucent tracing paper. These are not always works made to order or with a specific intention. There are just sketches drawn right in nature, as well as images whose plots just came to mind on their own.
