Hello, dear friends who love crafts, today I want to show you how I made this kitchen-themed embroidery, ideal for decorating hand towels or towels that we use daily while preparing our food.
Taking into account that the monthly contest has this theme, I take the opportunity to participate in it. I had several designs in mind, as the theme is very varied, so I began to combine fruits and vegetables with varied and colorful tones to make it more striking. I drew on the back the so emblematic kitchen hat, a very representative garment of chefs and cooks, and next to it a cutting board, one of the most used tools in sample kitchens.
For the elaboration of this embroidery I used the magic needle or punch needle to embroider the larger spaces and the hand needle mainly to make the leaves so that they would have a different texture. I hope you like it. Below, I show you all the materials I used and the step by step of the creative process.
Hola, queridos amigos amantes de las manualidades, hoy quiero mostrarles cómo realicé este bordado con temática de cocina, ideal para adornar los paños de mano o toallas que utilizamos diariamente mientras preparamos nuestros alimentos.
Teniendo en cuenta que el concurso mensual tiene esta temática, aprovecho para ser partícipe de él. Tenía en mente varios diseños, pues el tema es muy variado, así que comencé a combinar frutas y vegetales con tonos variados y coloridos para hacerlo más llamativo. Dibujé por detrás el tan emblemático gorro de cocina, una prenda muy representativa de los chefs y cocineros, y a su lado una tabla de corte, una de las herramientas más utilizadas en muestras cocinas.
Para la elaboración de este bordado utilicé la aguja mágica o punch needle para bordar los espacios más grandes y la aguja de mano principalmente para hacer las hojas para que quedaran con otra textura. 👩🍳Step by step // Paso a paso👩🍳
The first thing I did was to take a sheet of paper and mark the outline of the embroidery hoop to define the space of the design I would draw. Inside I started to draw first the fruits and vegetables, then I painted the chef's hat as if it was coming out from the back and next to it a small cutting board. I always draw the design on a sheet of paper and then transfer it to the fabric with the help of a carbon paper, as this way I avoid making mistakes that I can't erase later if I do it directly on the fabric. When transferring the drawing, I went over all the lines with a ballpoint pen to improve the visibility of the drawing, then I placed the fabric on the frame.
Lo primero que hice fue tomar una hoja de papel y marcar el contorno del aro de bordar para definir el espacio del diseño que dibujaría. En su interior comencé a dibujar primeramente las frutas y vegetales, luego pinté el gorro de cocinero como saliendo por la parte de atrás y a su lado una pequeña la tabla de corte. Siempre dibujo el diseño en una hoja de papel y luego lo transfiero a la tela con la ayuda de un papel carbón, ya que así evito cometer errores que luego no puedo borrar si lo hago directamente en la tela. Al transferir el dibujo, repasé todas las líneas con un bolígrafo para mejorar la visibilidad de este, luego coloqué la tela en el bastidor.
I started embroidering with the black thread to mark the whole silhouette of the kitchen hat. I didn't find it necessary to stuff the inside of the hat, since both the hat and the fabric are white, so I decided to just mark the silhouette. Then, with brown thread, I filled the entire inside of the cutting board, leaving the hole where it is supposed to hang and one below where I would embroider a cherry.
Comencé a bordar con el hilo de color negro para marcar toda la silueta del gorro de cocina. A este no me pareció necesario rellenar por dentro, ya que tanto el gorro como la tela son blancos, decidí solo marcar la silueta. Luego, con hilo marrón, rellené todo el interior de la tabla de corte, dejando el orificio donde supuestamente se cuelga y uno debajo donde bordaría una cereza.
With the colors orange, red and yellow I embroidered all the inside of the carrots, tomatoes and lemons, respectively. I did all this with the magic needle.
Con los colores naranja, rojo y amarillo bordé todo el interior de las zanahorias, los tomates y los limones, respectivamente. Todo esto lo hice con la aguja mágica.
I used various shades of green for this embroidery. I started with leaves from the carrots, with a lighter shade I did the zucchini and cucumber stripes, filling in the rest of these with a much stronger shade. Then, alternating these colors a bit, I embroidered the leaves using the hand needle.
Utilicé varios tonos de verde para este bordado. Comencé con hojas de las zanahorias, con un tono más claro hice las rayas del calabacín y el pepino, rellenando el resto de estos con un tono mucho más fuerte. Luego, alternando un poco estos colores, bordé las hojas utilizando la aguja de mano.
