🥇 Alicante - City & Beach... and more :)) by @mipiano

There is a city bathed by the gentle waves of the Mediterranean Sea; Moors and Christians shared it for centuries, experiencing times of war and peace. Throughout all that time, the hill of this place was crowned with a fortress, Santa Bárbara Castle. Little remains of the castle now, but the ruins of that site preserve a history that cannot be erased by the passage of time. Anyone wishing to explore it will have to feel a bit of a sweat climbing Mount Benacantil in Alicante, either by taking the stairs through the Santa Cruz neighbourhood or by taking the crowded bus that leads to the top of the hill.

🥈 Visiting the Bank of England museum by @livinguktaiwan

Even though I used to work 10 minutes away from it for many years, I have never thought of visiting the Bank of England museum in London. Last year when I was in town, I finally dropped in for a visit. The Bank of England building is quite big, and the museum entrance is located at the back of the main building. It isn't signposted very well, you'll only see a fairly small obscure sign when you arrive outside.

🥉 Last phase of our European rail trip via Venice by @steevc

Next we traveled down through the Alps over the Brenner Pass to Venice. It was not a speedy trip through the mountains, but work is ongoing on a 55km tunnel that could knock an hour off the journey. As you come down into Italy it is very striking how many vineyards there are.
