Hello everyone, happy new year once again. We are good to go this year...2025. Having a new born baby in every home is a joyful occasion. We all know that babies are not born into the same homes daily. It's a journey of nine good months before a baby or babies can be delivered or added to families, therefore the arrival of babies or a baby are never taken for granted. I know before the arrival, the parents would have prepared to welcome their bundle of joy!!
It is difficult for me to meditate on what I could give a newborn child without thinking about what I would have liked, or worse, without being able to avoid that which I missed so much and for which I would have paid the highest of all prices. And if I were to focus on the latter, that gift would not fit in a box, or at least it would not be the best presentation for a person who was simply conspicuous by his absence. Nor can I say that I will think like that child I once was, so my reflection will always point to that child who could be in front of me today, waiting for a gift as valuable as it is special.
Fairytales are my thing. I’ve always loved the idea of magical kingdoms, talking animals, and, of course, those three mysterious guardians who pop up to sprinkle a bit of sparkle on a newborn’s life. I mean, who wouldn’t want their baby to be blessed with beauty, intelligence, and the inexplicable ability to communicate with creatures? Naturally, if I had the chance to be one of those fairy godmothers (or, let’s keep it Nigerian: fairy “aunties”), you can bet I’d take it very seriously, but also add my own flair to it.
I had made numerous decisions in my life, and never regretted much about them but- one was such that it changed my whole life, and guess what, it was taken without a second thought, and within a few moments, being carried away by emotions. Well, even if I had some thoughts I wouldn’t have anticipated these dark days, not dark actually, black hole to be specific.
I have many nieces and nephews. They are the best thing in life next to my own children. I have seen some of their birth, seen them grow up, and get to blessed them after their birth.
